This perfect 8/8 run earned them 24 points, topping the standings and securing an automatic spot in the last 16 as a seeded team. They achieved this in the new format introduced last season, surpassing previous group stage records of 6 wins, like those by Bayern Munich (2022/23), Real Madrid, and Manchester City (2023/24).

The record was sealed with a 3-2 home win over Kairat Almaty on January 27-28, 2026, despite using a rotated squad.

Context:For The Records

No team had previously gone unbeaten across 8 league phase games, with even Liverpool falling short last season against PSV. Arsenal's dominance highlights their consistency under Mikel Arteta in this phase.

Yesterday was a night of exhilarating,thrilling and entertaining night of football ⚽ across Europe,where 36 teams slugged out for 90minutes to determine who qualifies automatically and who goes into play offs.

Tomorrow! the next UEFA Champions League draw is the knockout phase play-offs draw on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 12:00 CET (1:00 PM WAT) in Nyon, Switzerland.
It is going to pairs teams ranked 9-24 from the league phase.First legs follow on February 17-18, while second legs on 24-25.
Round of 16 draw comes later on February 27, 2026.
