Acaba de darse el pitazo inicial que marca el inicio de la tercera jornada en la Premier League. El Chelsea recibe a uno de los recién ascendidos de categoría. Pero, ¿qué nos esperará para el fin de semana? Hablemos de tres partidos interesantes.

NEWCASTLE vs. LIVERPOOL

NEWCASTLE sufrió una dolorosa caída ante el campeón vigente, arrebatándole el invicto que sólo le duró una sóla semana. Desde el octavo puesto se prepara para su siguiente encuentro, que se celebrará en sus aposentos. Lo que sí es cierto es que nadie pone en duda el buen criterio que también tuvieron en ésta ventana de transferencia, al traer a Tonali y Barnes. Y más recientemente, se ha confirmado la cesión de Lewis Hall, que llega desde el Chelsea. El acuerdo incluye el compromiso de comprarlo al final de ésta temporada. Así que éste joven de 18 años de edad no volverá a vivir en Londres en unos cuantos meses. Es bueno ver a Isak mostrando la calidad por la que fue traído a ésta competitiva liga, y ahora tendrá otra oportunidad de encargarse de anotar goles para su equipo.

LIVERPOOL venció al Bournemouth de forma clara, incluída una joya del colombiano Luís Díaz, anotando con una peculiar pirueta. Ahora visita St. James Park con la esperanza de empezar una racha de victorias que haga seguir subiendo en la tabla de posiciones. Vimos los primeros minutos de Wataru Endo y tal vez haya más éste fin de semana. La buena noticia es que Mac Allister estará disponible para éste encuentro, luego que ganaran la apelación que hizo el Liverpool ante las autoridades para poder dejar sin efecto la tarjeta roja que le dieron al campeón del mundo. A pesar de que el golpe estuvo por encima del tobillo, el argentino volverá a la acción para ésta dura visita a las urracas.

Los últimos tres partidos en St. James Park han sido dos victorias para los reds y un empate. De hecho, en las últimas dos temporadas, el Liverpool ha ganado los dos duelos al Newcastle. Así que las urracas buscarán su primera victoria en más de 24 meses.

ARSENAL vs. FULHAM

ARSENAL cumplió con las expectativas de quienes quieren volver a verlo luchar por la copa éste año. Volvió a ganar, ésta vez ante las águilas. Saka es uno de los mejores referentes de éste equipo, y sigue brillando por la banda, dando vértigo, también cruzándose hacia adentro para buscar disparar al arco, y no le tiene miedo al 1 contra 1. Ya ha anotado una vez en dos salidas como titular. La mala noticia es que Timber, otro de los talentos jóvenes que han traído, estará alejado de las canchas por unas cuantas jornadas más. Recientemente, Arteta se mostró descontento con la tendencia de éste año a tratar de penalizar más los intentos por desperdiciar tiempo de juego. Pero como buen resiliente, deberá concentrarse en lo que sus muchachos hagan dentro del rectángulo de juego.

FULHAM fue sorprendido en su estadio por el Brentford, siendo goleado 0-3. Ahora, los dirigidos por Marcos Da Silva se han quedado en Londres para preparar su próximo duelo. Raúl Jimenez de seguro estará de nuevo dentro de los seleccionados, junto al experimentado Willian. Y precisamente sobre estos dos está cayendo más responsabilidad ofensiva, en vista de la partida de Aleksander Mitrovic a los países árabes. ¿Cúantos nombres más veremos marcharse a ésta liga "nueva"? Lo que estará por verse es qué hará el Fulham con el dinero recibido por esta venta, qué tipo de inversión hará en pro de los intereses del club.

Fulham buscará su primera victoria en la casa del Arsenal. La última vez que estos dos se encontraron dejaron los tres goles para el segundo tiempo. A pesar de que el visitante marcó primero, los locales voltearon el partido antes del pitazo final. ¡Es otro derby de Londres!

BRIGHTON vs. WEST HAM

BRIGHTON es el actual primer puesto de la liga. No es Manchester City, ni Arsenal, ni Liverpool, ni Manchester United. Las gaviotas miran a todos desde lo alto gracias a su nueva victoria contundente, con el mismo marcador que el primer partido: 4-1. Gracias a ésa generosa diferencia de goles está en el puesto de honor. A pesar de que varios de los nombres de la temporada pasada ya no están, como Mac Allister, Caicedo y Sánchez, el equipo sigue manteniendo los resultados y el marcado estilo de juego que ha impreso Roberto de Zerbi al club. Mitoma y March tienen una importante participación en la ofensiva. Igual, ambos son trabajadores en el retroceso y contribuyen cuando no tienen el balón. Estupiñán está captando la atención de los noticieros y de seguro de ojeadores de equipos más grandes. La mala noticia ha sido conocer la lesión de Enciso, que incluso pone en peligro su actuación con la representación de su país para las eliminatorias del próximo Mundial.

WEST HAM UNITED propinó una importante derrota a sus vecinos de Londres, cuando pudieron vencer al Chelsea 3-1. Kehrer está haciendo sus maletas para marcharse del club, mientras que Mavropanos más bien está desempacando sus cosas en la capital, proveniente de Alemania. Ahora David Moyes tiene un elemento más para acomodar en sus alineaciones. A estas alturas nos preguntamos sobre la actuación de Jarred Bowen, quien brilló hace unas temporadas atrás, haciendo que casi llegara alguna de las chequeras de equipos grandes. Pero ahora se ha apagado. En los dos partidos de ésta campaña vimos destellos de esa brillante versión de Bowen, y veremos si aprovecha ésta nueva oportunidad.

EL JUGADOR

Mateo Kovacicha cobrado mucha importancia en este momento. Fue el reemplazante natural de Kevin de Bruyne en el primer duelo de la temporada, y ocupó ese puesto desde el mismísimo comienzo en el segundo partido. Es el nuevo responsable de distribuir el juego y tratar de asociarse con el delantero centro. Esta conexión deberá buscarse de nuevo, y que tanta alegría le dio entre el belga y el noruego. Estaremos atentos sobre cómo asume esta responsabilidad, un hombre que ya ha estado en el Real Madrid y Chelsea, pero nunca bajo la tutela de Guardiola.

He is the new man responsible for distributing play and trying to link up with the center forward. This connection will have to be sought again, and that gave him so much joy between the Belgian and the Norwegian. We will be attentive to how he assumes this responsibility, a man who has already been at Real Madrid and Chelsea, but never under the tutelage of Guardiola.
