Veamos dos de los derbies agendados para ésta fecha en la previa de la jornada 9 de la Premier League.

CHELSEA vs. ARSENAL

CHELSEA ganó la última vez al Burnley 1-4, alcanzando su segunda victoria seguida, y es noticia. Los inquilinos del Stanford Bridge no han superado el décimo puesto en ésta temporada. Actualmente están en el 11° lugar, esperando que puedan despegar algún día. No sabemos si éstos dos últimos resultados serán casualidad o una verdadera señal de que algo bueno sucederá. Aunque es cierto que el mediocampo está mejorando aún falta que lleguen a un nivel competitivo para con las demás entidades. Caicedo se viene acoplando bien, y el rol más adelantado que está asumiendo Enzo le está resultando muy bien, aún la locomotora no está a tono. De hecho, será la quinta vez que tenga que jugar en su estadio y apenas ha ganado una sola vez, con dos derrotas. Y recibe a uno de los punteros del campeonato.

ARSENAL sigue invicto gracias a la oportuna victoria que logró en el Emirates ante el Manchester City 1-0, arrebatándole el derecho a estar en la cima. Ya son dos victorias seguidas para los gunners a la vez que mantienen su portería invicta gracias al buen papel que viene desempeñando Raya. El Arsenal es el visitante más efectivo, ya que se ha llevado los 9 puntos en los tres partidos que ha disputado fuera de casa, donde además ha marcado seis goles y no ha permitido ninguno. Pero ésta vez tendrá que hacerlo con las posibles ausencias de Saliba, Trossard y Saka, quienes siguen esperando el alta médica para reincorporarse. Será el regreso de Havertz a su antigüo estadio.

Aunque el historial completo en Stanford Bridge favorece a los locales, los últimos tres encuentros en ése escenario ha sido victoria para el visitante. No solo eso, sino que llama la atención que en dos de esos el Chelsea no pudo marcar goles. Pochettino y Arteta volverán a saludarse, y los lentes de los camarógrafos no quieren perderse ése estrechón de manos. ¡Es un derby de Londres!

LIVERPOOL vs. EVERTON

LIVERPOOL negoció un empate en su visita al Amex Stadium, 2-2. Le bastó para conservar el último puesto que lleva a la Champions League. Sin embargo, preocupa a los rojos el hecho de que hace casi un mes desde su última victoria, por allá en el 24 de septiembre, cuando venció al West Ham. Aunado a eso, recientemente vio cómo una de sus piezas claves salía lesionado de su encuentro con la selección nacional: Andrew Robertson. El joven y atrevido Tsimikas de seguro asumirá esa posición. Ya lo hemos visto trabajar allí y Klopp confía mucho en él. La joven delantera también salió a asumir encuentros con sus países, y trajeron buenos y malos recuerdos. Tal vez se haya dedicado tiempo para hacer que estos muchachos se despejen la mente y se concentren con la realidad y expectativas que tienen los de Anfield para encarar éste derby.

EVERTON está en una situación preocupante. Aunque ganó 3-0 al Bournemouth en la últimam jornada, está peligrosamente cerca de la zona de descenso, apenas a tres puntos de referencia. Los dirigidos por Sean Dyche saben que no pueden dormirse en los laureles, y buscarán su tercera victoria en fila en éste fin de semana. La mejor posición que han alcanzado en ésta campaña es la número 15, y eso quieren cambiarlo pronto, entrando a una zona de la tabla más segura. André Gómez y Dele Ali siguen siendo baja en el equipo, aunque Coleman está más próximo a reincoporarse al club. Mientras tanto, los ojos siguen estando sobre lo que puede aportar Danjuma, recordando sus mejores números en otras ligas.

Es el derby de Merseyside, uno de los más calientes de la liga, por eso tiene mucho que ver el horario que seleccionan para que se dispute, ya que en más de una ocasión se presentan desórdenes al terminar estos duelos. En los últimos cinco encuentros en Anfield el Liverpool se ha llevado cuatro victorias, y una sóla para el Everton.

MANCHESTER CITY vs. BRIGHTON

MANCHESTER CITY consiguió su segunda derrota en fila en la Premier. ¿Desde cuándo no escuchabas eso? Luego de cinco fechas en el poder, han quedado ahora en el tercer puesto de la tabla, a sólo dos puntos de la cima, pero sabemos que los ciudadanos de ninguna manera están muertos. Su entrenado no oculta la tristeza que siente por la ausencia de Kevin De Bruyne, puesto que Kovacic no ha cubierto completamente. Rodri ha vuelto a estar disponible, y ha sido interesante el experimento que ha hecho el técnico para incorporar a Julián Álvarez si prescindir en la alineación a la estralla Haaland. Deberá sacudirse pronto los malos resultados, que también los han obtenido en copas domésticas. Y esta es una de las caras que necesitan los equipos grandes para mostrar sus credenciales: cómo se sobreponen cuando las cosas no les salen bien, y cuánto tiempo les toma.

BRIGHTONresistió el ataque de los reds en la última jornada, y ahora visitará al Manchester City en el Etihad Stadium. Sin embargo, ya está quedando difuminada su última victoria de la campaña, también el 24 de septiembre, ante el Bournemouth. Actualmente está en el sexto lugar de la tabla, y es el peor que ha logrado éste año, y de qué manera. En los primeros seis encuentros permitió seis goles, pero en los mismos dos partidos siguientes permitió ese mismo número de goles. Así que llega a este encuentro con un reciente doloroso y el rival es superior en los papeles y en la tabla de posiciones. Pervis Estupiñán seguirá siendo una de las bajas sensibles del club unos días más, al igual que Lamptey y Enciso.Me da curiosidad quién estará encargado ésta vez en la delantera, porque hay una lucha interesante entre los delanteros Ferguson, Joao Pedro y Welbeck que no termina de haber un favorito.

Brighton buscará su primera victoria en el Etihad luego de diez intentos. El Manchester City buscará exhibir su juego ante su público y meter presión a los dos de arriba.

EL JUGADOR

MATTY CASH conforma la defensa del Aston Villa, quienes recientemente han dado buenos espectáculos. El lateral derecho se adelante en el juego y ha sido autor de balones cruzados y una asistencia.
