ANÁLISIS || PREMIER LEAGUE - Previa Gameweek 34 [ESP-ENG] ⚽️⚽️⚽️

Y volvemos a tener un líder diferente por tercera jornada consecutiva. Es un viejo conocido que ahora depende de sí mismo. En ésta extensa jornada 34 nos enfocaremos en lo que harán los tres de arriba en sus respectivos compromisos.

ARSENAL vs. CHELSEA

ARSENAL viene de par de golpes muy duros. En la jornada pasada fue sorprendido por el Aston Villa en el Emirates, cayendo derrotado 0-2. Y luego viajó a Alemania para volver a perder, ésta vez con el Bayern Munich. Así que en cuestión de cinco días se despidió de la cima de la Premier y de la Champions League. Ahora, vivos sólo en la liga local, su entrenador dice estar concentrado en ella, pero lamentablemente ya el campeonato no de depende de lo que puedan hacer ellos mismos. Les toca ganar todos los partidos restantes y esperar un resbalón del actual líder. Con la mencionada derrota en casa interrumpió su racha de 11 partidos sin perder. Cabe destacar que antes de éste derby londinense deberán enfrentarse al Wolverhampton, haciendo tiempo mientras su rival cumple con compromisos coperos. La gran pregunta es ¿cómo llegarán los cañones luego de dos duras derrotas? Una posibilidad es que vengan con la pólvora mojada, con un recuerdo fresco de que no son infalibles en casa. Tal vez, tal vez, si el Chelsea marca primero, éste Arsenal se le haga muy difícil recuperarse.

CHELSEA propinó una abultada paliza al Everton en Stamford Bridge 6-0 ubicándose en la posición 9 de la tabla y, creanlo o no, ésta es el lugar más alto que ha alcanzado ésta campaña. Ahora tiene ocho partidos sin perder (4 empates y 4 victorias) y en ese período ha marcado 23 goles y permitido 13 logrando un diferencial de goles de +10. Pero no nos dejemos engañar. Metiendo la lupa a los resultados podemos ver de que en tres de esas cuatro victorias han ganado con diferencia de apenas un gol. De hecho, sólo en un partido han dejado su portería invicta. Así que la defensa está muy frágil, y sólo han podido sumar de a tres puntos porque han logrado anotar más de los que han permitido en el encuentro. La solidez en el fondo aún es algo que deben seguir trabajando ésta joven plantilla, que por cierto se vio en conflicto al momento de patear el penal en la última fecha. Aunque supuestamente ya está todo solucionado, veremos qué puede percibirse en éste próximo encuentro. Antes de encarar a sus vecinos de la ciudad deberán enfrentarse al Manchester City por la FA Cup.

Es un derby de Londres que en la jornada 9 quedó empatada a dos goles en Stamford Bridge. El historial reciente en el Emirates es muy parejo, con cuatro victorias para cada uno y tres empates en los últimos 11 encuentros. Este partido será el Martes 23.

BRIGHTON vs. MANCHESTER CITY

BRIGHTON sigue presentando problemas en éstas últimas semanas. En la última fecha empató con el Burnley y acumula 4 partidos sin poder ganar. En ese período apenas ha anotado dos goles, quedando sin anotar en par de oportunidades. Cayó a la décima posición de la clasificación, que es la peor que ha tenido en ésta campaña. Algunos atribuyen el mal momento a la ausencia de hombres como Mitoma y March, aunado al mal momento que viven otros talentos que no terminan de explotar. Con todo, las gaviotas se han esforzado mucho por defender su nido y han logrado que sólo Arsenal y West Ham hayan podido sumar de a tres puntos en ese engramado. El panorama puediera ser peor, pero gracias a la gestión sobresaliente de Roberto de Zerbi podrán tener otra campaña en la máxima categoría y optimizar lo que haga falta.

MANCHESTER CITY venció al Luton 5-1 y de un sólo brinco pasó de la tercera posición a la primera, gracias a sus 73 puntos y el resbalón de Arsenal y Liverpool, que perdieron. 17 partidos sin perder, manteniéndose al acecho de los de arriba, esperando su oportunidad, le llegó y no la desaprovechó. Sin embargo, Guardiola recientemente mencionó que le preocupa el cansancio de la plantilla en vista al intenso calendario que han vivido. De hecho, antes de llegar a éste partido el jueves 25, deberán enfrentar al Chelsea por una de las semifinales de la FA Cup. Haaland es duda para ése compromiso y veremos si pueden llegar a éste frente a las gaviotas. Los ciudadanos acumulan un 66% de victorias cuando les toca jugar como visitantes. Es relevante destacar que si gana todos los partidos que le quedan nadie podrá alcanzarlos. Su futuro está en sus manos.

EVERTON vs. LIVERPOOL

EVERTON salió del Stamford Bridge con las tablas en la cabeza. Luego de enfrentar al Forest podrá recibir en el Goodinson Park a su rival de ciudad. Actualmente está en el puesto 16 de la tabla y busca sobrevivir a una complicada temporada donde le han descontado 10 puntos. Si logra mantenerse en la Premier será tremendo éxito. En los últimos tres encuentros de liga ha obtenido los tres resultados posibles. Se espera que Calvert-Lewin esté completamente recuperado para éste compromiso. Coleman es más difícil que logre estar a tono para el derby. Sólo ha anotado 32 goles, promediando menos de un gol por partido. Sólo el Sheffield tiene una peor estadística. Recurre mucho al pelotazo, evidencia de que lidera el departamento de pases largos y es el antepenúltimo en la categoría de pases. Es el segundo equipo que más penaltis ha concedido, sin embargo, está en el top 5 de los que menos goles ha permitido, logrando meterse en el top 3 de porterías invictas y tal vez allí está parte de la clave para aún mantenerse a salvo del descenso.

LIVERPOOL fue vencido en Anfield por el Crystal Palace por la mínima diferencia (es la primera en casa ésta temporada), haciendo que se quedaran con 71 puntos. Ya habían venido de una derrota en ese mismo estadio en Europa League esa misma semana. Y el panorama no mejoró en el partido de vuelta porque quedaron eliminados de la competición a pesar de haber ganado el partido. Así que los reds encaran éste derby con el orgullo herido, y con la posibilidad de despedir a su entrenador con las manos vacías. Al igual que su rival directo de Londres, no le queda otra opción que ganar todos sus encuentros y ver si algún otro equipo le echa una mano golpeando al rival de Manchester. Es difícil ver a éste Liverpool algo trabado en los últimos encuentros, sin la capacidad de remontar un marcador adverso. Si quieren mantenerse con posibilidades deberán buscar esa garra que mostraron en años anteriores para poder salir adelante en partidos complicados.

El historial en Goodinson Park está muy parejo: 34 victorias para cada uno y 36 empates. Sin embargo, para encontrar la última victoria del Everton allí hay que remontarnos al 17 de octubre del 2010 cuando venció 2-0. A partir de allí han sido tres empates y nueve victorias para el Liverpool.

EL JUGADOR

BRUNO FERNANDES ha anotado 4 goles en los últimos tres partidos, alcanzando 8 goles en total en la temporada. Éste fue el mismo número de anotaciones que logró en la temporada 2022/23, aunque aún sigue lejos de su mayor estadística personal en la 2020/21: 18 goles. Ha sido titular en 31 de los 32 encuentros que ha tenido su equipo y ahora que están en el puesto 7 de la tabla necesita la mejor versión del portugués porque está luchando cuerpo a cuerpo con el Newcastle para esos últimos puestos que le brindan un cupo a las competiciones europeas, donde podría sumarse el Chelsea si gana sus compromisos.

He has scored only 32 goals, averaging less than a goal per game. Only Sheffield Wednesday have a worse statistic. They resort to the ball a lot, evidence of which is that they lead in the long passing department and are second to last in the passing category. They have conceded the second most penalties, however, they are in the top 5 of those that have allowed the fewest goals, managing to get into the top 3 for unbeaten goals and perhaps therein lies part of the key to still staying safe from relegation.

And the outlook did not improve in the second leg as they were eliminated from the competition despite winning the match. So the Reds face this derby with wounded pride, and with the possibility of firing their manager empty-handed. Like their direct rivals from London, they have no choice but to win all their games and see if any other team can give them a helping hand by beating their Manchester rivals. It's hard to see this Liverpool side struggling in recent games, lacking the ability to come back from behind.
