Hace poco terminó el partido más atractivo de ésta jornada 13 de la Premier League. Los diablos rojos visitaban el Stanford Bridge con el deseo de sumar algunos puntos. Michael Carrick hizo el papel de entrenador en ésta novela que se acerca a su fin. Queríamos ver si el Manchester podría evitar caer estrepitosamente como ya lo ha hecho frente a otros grandes de la Liga. A continuación te detallo lo más relevante del partido.

Las alineaciones tuvieron sus sorpresas. Los Blues arrancó con algunos no tan habituales, como Loftus-Cheek y Hudson-Odoi. Además, como parte de la rotación regular, encontramos a Thiago Silva, Chalobah, Ziyech y Marcos Alonso. El entrenador alemán prefirió a su compatriota Werner en vez del belga Lukaku. Me pareció una decisión interesante, y quizás hasta decisiva para el encuentro. Me pregunto por qué sigue en el banco Cesar Azpilicueta. Quizás por el buen momento que están pasando los jóvenes del equipo... Al terminar de publicar le enviaré un WhatsApp a Tuchel.
Como era de esperarse, el Manchester United alineó a Bailly en vista de las bajas de centrales para este encuentro. Pero lo más llamativo fue que Cristiano Ronaldo no fuera titular en éste encuentro. ¿Consensuado? También, creo que le enviaré un WhatsApp a Carrick para preguntarle. Sancho y Rashford se encargarían del ataque, teniendo a Bruno Fernandes como su sombra.

Hubo varias faltas en un tramo específico del partido, haciendo que se cortara un poco. Aquí ambos tuvieron culpa, y sabemos que a veces es una forma de jugar aceptable en Inglaterra.
From the very beginning, the Londoners were able to show why they started as favorites to win the match. They dominated the ball and created scoring chances after just a few minutes of play. Ziyech and Hudson-Odoi had already taken shots on goal less than five minutes after the opening whistle. De Gea kept the ball on both occasions. The home side distributed play down both flanks and through the middle. With ten minutes gone they had 74% ball possession. Throughout the first half they kept a good pace of play, dynamic, fast and looking to win the ball back early when they lost it.
United could hardly hold on to the ball. After a few passes they would lose the ball, either because of pressure from their opponents or because of some inaccuracies. What was common was to see them running behind the ball and trying to defend against the Blues' important scoring chances. There were several fouls in a specific stretch of the match, causing it to be cut a bit short. Here both were at fault, and we know that this is sometimes an acceptable way to play in England.
Las ocasiones generadas siguieron siendo para los locales. Marcos Alonso tuvo su oportunidad, así como también un espectacular disparo de Rudiger que pegó en el travesaño. Hudson-Odoi fue muy incisivo en el ataque, buscando poner a prueba al portero, y Reece James también tuvo su oportunidad de disparar. La posesión del balón no varió mucho, terminando el primer tiempo con un 70% para los londinenses. Quedó la sensación de que el marcador terminó sin goles más por las imprecisiones del Chelsea que por el trabajo defensivo del United. Reflejaron unos 10 disparos al arco, y con apenas uno por parte de los visitantes. Los equipos fueron al vestuario con frio, pero sin nieve, como en otras locaciones hoy.
En los cinco minutos del complemento, luego de un deficiente dominio del balón por parte de Jorginho, Sancho robó el balón y de sus pies fue a parar al fondo de la red, en una corrida espectacular y segura. Sin mucho mérito, los rojos se pusieron adelante en el marcador. Esto marcó un antes y un después en el partido.
The chances generated continued to be for the home side. Marcos Alonso had his chance, as well as a spectacular shot from Rudiger that hit the crossbar. Hudson-Odoi was very incisive in attack, looking to test the goalkeeper, and Reece James also had his chance to shoot. EL MOMENTO // THE MOMENT
Pienso de que a veces lo más relevante de un partido es un momento, serie de jugadas o un período de tiempo, y no sólo una jugada. Por eso, me gusta hablar del Momento del juego.
He aquí una de las situaciones en las que los equipos pueden demostrar su fortaleza emocional y deportiva. Al ir por debajo en el marcador luego de un garrafal error de uno de sus compañeros, ¿cómo reaccionarían? Tal y como se esperaba, el Chelsea imprimió más intensidad al juego. Fue a empujar más hacia arriba, acorralando al rival y haciendo jugar en su terreno de juego. Sin embargo, el equipo dio algunas señales de nerviosismo por las decisiones que tomaba, en especial, de Jorginho, el principal artífice del nerviosismo. En algunos tramos pudimos empezar a ver al Chelsea defender, acomodarse en forma defensiva mientras el Manchester lograba materializar series de pases más largos. Quizás ésto le mandó una señal a Tuchel de que la plantilla no sabía qué hacer y cómo poder buscar revertir el marcador. ¿Por qué éste era el momento del partido? Porque queríamos ver si el Chelsea podría voltear el resultado con una plantilla de primera. Y sentíamos que podría venir un error más que podría resultar en otro gol. ¿Especularía el Manchester y pararía el bus en su portería? Fue el tramo más interesante del partido, muy trepidante, lleno de idas y vueltas, hasta el minuto 68, donde Thiago Silva recibió tremenda patada dentro del área que fue cambiado por gol por el mismísimo Jorginho. ¿Cómo se sentiría el nacionalizado italiano al incidir en el marcador para ambos equipos?
I think that sometimes the most relevant part of a game is a moment, a series of plays or a period of time, and not just a single play. That's why I like to talk about the Moment of the Game.
Here is one of the situations where teams can demonstrate their emotional and athletic fortitude. When trailing after a blunder by one of your teammates, how would you react? As expected, Chelsea brought more intensity to the game. They went to push further up the field, corralling their opponents and making them play in their own half. However, the team showed some signs of nervousness with the decisions they were making, especially from Jorginho, the main architect of the nervousness. In some stretches we could start to see Chelsea start to defend, settling in defensively while Manchester managed to materialize a series of longer passes. Perhaps this sent a signal to Tuchel that the squad didn't know what to do and how they could look to turn the score around. Why was this the time of the game? Because we wanted to see if Chelsea could turn the result around with a top squad. And we felt that one more mistake could come that could result in another goal. Would Manchester speculate and stop the bus in their goal? It was the most interesting stretch of the match, very fast-paced, full of back and forth, until the 68th minute, where Thiago Silva took a tremendous kick inside the box that was exchanged for a goal by Jorginho himself. How would the Italian nationalized player feel about impacting the score for both teams?
Llegaron los cambios. Entró CR7 por parte de la visita, y Mount junto a Pulisic por parte de los locales. Aunque el partido siguió teniendo una intensidad alta, el marcador no varió más. El público se acordó de hacer su trabajo en el minuto 77, cuando se acordó que puede cantar, y meterle presión al rival incentivando a su equipo, haciendo valer su localía. Werner protagonizó una jugada loca en el área, y Ziyech tuvo una oportunidad más que desperdició. Lukaku pudo entrar y pudo inquietar un poco a la defensa del United, ya que empezó a inclinarse el juego hacia la banda derecha con Chalobah, Mount y Pulisic y aparecieron más aún los balones aéreos buscando la cabeza del 9. 1. FRED (Manchester United). Supo aguantar en el medio, cuando tuvo que correr detrás del balón. A pesar de que desperdició una clara oportunidad de gol ante un regalo del portero rival, hizo un importante trabajo psicológico en la primera mitad, generando faltas innecesarias e interrumpiendo el juego. Al menos, logró que el United no se viera tan mal.
2. JADON SANCHO (Manchester United). Se mantuvo concentrado y con un instinto sobresaliente pudo robar el balón en ése sobresaliente error de Jorginho, además de decidir bien al ejecutar al gol. ¡Y más le vale! Porque a su lado estaba Rashford completamente solo. Salvó el resultado.
3. REECE JAMES (Chelsea). Hizo el trabajo de lateral de forma excelente. Supo ayudar en la ofensiva, teniendo claridad y generando juego. Por esa banda llegaron varios de los balones ofensivos que inquietaron al inestable Bailly. También tuvo oportunidades de probar al arco. Hizo un buen trabajo éste joven inglés.
Choosing a single player is very difficult. So I prefer to choose a top 3.
1. FRED (Manchester United). He was able to hold his own in the middle, when he had to run after the ball. Although he wasted a clear goal-scoring opportunity when faced with a gift from the rival goalkeeper, he did an important psychological job in the first half, generating unnecessary fouls and interrupting the game. At least he managed to make United look less bad.
JADON SANCHO (Manchester United). He stayed focused and with outstanding instinct was able to steal the ball in that outstanding mistake by Jorginho, as well as deciding well to execute the goal. And he had better! Because next to him was Rashford all alone. He saved the result.
3. REECE JAMES (Chelsea). He did an excellent job at fullback. He was able to help in the offense, having clarity and generating play. By that band came several of the offensive balls that disturbed the unstable Bailly. He also had opportunities to try the goal. This young Englishman did a good job.
El Chelsea logró su tercer empate de la campaña, quedando a sólo un punto de su más cercano perseguidor, el Manchester City, y a sólo dos puntos del peligroso Liverpool. Chelsea earned its third draw of the campaign, leaving it just one point behind closest pursuers Manchester City and only two points behind dangerous Liverpool. However, Manchester United have the same number of draws, but have lost five games. This now places them in eighth place.
