FPL - Hamburguesitos |Gameweek 04|

Hey, nice to greet you. It's my first post in this important community and I'm super happy. I've seen with excitement how there is a special space here to talk about one of my favorite games: the Premier League Fantasy. I also really like the UEFA Champions League Fantasy, obviously. I've also read the interactions by DISCORD, and there are really a lot of experienced people here in this game. So today I decided to join the conversation and I plan to do it often. Next, I'll tell you a little bit about what I expect for my team on this Gameweek 04 in the Premier League Fantasy. All images are screenshots of my team from my computer.

First I would like to give some information about my team and the leagues I am in. My team is called "Hamburguesitos", as an allusion to one of my favorite foods: the hamburger. I've always liked to give funny names to my teams, but I usually don't get a chance to explain them, like I did this time. I found @hivefpl 's post in time where he announced the Hive FPL League code and was able to join. Also, I usually create a Classic and a Head-to-Head league to play with my family and friends. It's a lot of fun because we have a WhatsApp group where we interact, comment, congratulate and also drain our frustrations. In addition, I took the opportunity to join one more invitation-only league and two public ones.

My strategy for this season was to invest a lot of money in expensive players who were expected to perform excellently, as in previous years, make some smart purchases and finally fill the team with the best possible players at the minimum price.

I got the feeling that those expensive players that I didn't buy early on would be very difficult to buy mid-season, in view of the fact that they usually went up in price a bit and some of the ones I did buy went down in price. So I thought very carefully about buying guys like Salah, DeBruyne and Haaland (36.5 between the three of them) - it was now or never! I didn't mind investing a third of my budget on just three men. I think the three of them gave me good numbers, I'm not complaining.

Besides, I tried to make smart investments, such as Gabriel Jesus, Alexander-Arnold and Cancelo. Again, the Liverpool guy hasn't performed as expected, but what Gabriel Jesus has done has kept me afloat, so far.

And I tried to decipher millimetrically who might be the best players I could have for a cost of 4.5 each. It really was a headache, but I managed to finalize my roster. Unfortunately several of them didn't even see minutes in the first few rounds, and by the third round I had to use my first Wildcard, as I didn't want any more players to go without minutes played and one of them had already dropped from 4.5 to 4.4. So with that Wildcard I accommodated all the low priced players.

How do I face this 04th day?

GOALKEEPER

I'm leaning towards Mendy. I hope he doesn't swallow 3 goals against again. Although I don't really have a better choice, because the other keeper I bought last season was Ward (Leicester) who justly will face Chelsea who will come with their pride wounded to take it out on Wolves. He was the best goalkeeper up to that point by 4.0.

DEFENSE

I am confident that this line of five defenders can put up points. They are all regulars on their teams and I expect them to play all 90 minutes. I don't expect so much from Saliba and White this time, as they will be facing Fulham who have performed well, and have 5 goals scored in three games. I expect more from Trent and that together with his team he can wake up against a beaten Bournemouth, who comes from facing Manchester City and Arsenal without being able to score against them. So I would expect the English full-back to be able to provide an assist or two.

MIDFIELD

Salah, De Bruyne and Andreas are the picks. The Egyptian will be my captain in view of the above, and that among the three I think he has the most accessible opponent on this occasion. I have doubts between Andreas and Lavia, but I decided for Andreas because, despite going against the absolute leader of the championship, the team is having a good moment, and if Fulham scores, Andreas Pereira could be one of the feet that touches the ball before it reaches the back of the net, because of the position he is having in the attack. I hope I don't regret this decision tomorrow.

FORWARDS

The best I have: Haaland and Gabriel Jesus. I've been wondering if the Norwegian would be my captain, but while I don't doubt he can score against the Eagles at the weekend, I think Liverpool will get a bigger scoreline where Mohamed can be more involved in the scoring.

SUPPLEMENTS

Reed, Lavia and Greenwood are there for their price: 4.5. And hopefully with the starters I won't miss them. Although I have Reed as a first change just in case there are any last minute adjustments that affect some of the regulars I put in as starters. Greenwood is the player I want to change early in view of the fact that at Leeds he has barely played 24 out of 270 minutes. He is a substitute at his club and I would like to have some with more regularity. I may take two or three more matchdays to attend to this matter.

COMODINES

I will not use any. I think I have a good team for this weekend's pairings.

TRANSFERS

None. I think that having recently used the first Wildcard helps me, because I've already made several of the adjustments I was planning to make to my team, and I'm in a satisfactory state, at least for this matchup.

THE PLAYER I WOULD LIKE

Trippier (Newcastle) is a good defender, consistent and on matchday 3 he scored a goal in perfect English style: from a free kick. He will always have a chance with the set piece and Newcastle will face Wolves, who will have home advantage.

In round 3 I only lost steps in one league. I hope that this time also my team can give the minimum expected results and help us to continue climbing positions. I am surprised that in the Hive FPL league I am in 20th place, only 31 points behind the first place. So I hope I continue to manage this team well and we can get a little closer to that first place.

Thanks for taking the time to get to know my team and my criteria. We will meet in a few days to talk again about how we did. Best regards.

😎

Alexander Arnold is doing your team proud already. It's a bold move to have 5 defenders and I must say it's paying off already. Let's see what points they can give. This is a good line up too.

Yes, he already has 15 points and the game is not over yet. Sorry I didn't captain him. I was leaning towards a heavy scoreline in that game, in Liverpool's favor, but with Salah having a bigger impact on the goals. Regards @gingerup

That is great. Too bad Salah didn't score. Trent did well.
