Queríamos ver éste partido. Dos de los equipos que han hecho bien las cosas en éste arranque de temporada. Manchester sin convencer, y Everton con ganas de ser consecuente. Sabemos que éstos partidos pueden llegar a resolverse a cachetazo limpio, metafóricamente hablando. Pero tuvo algo de sentido literal en ésta oportunidad. Ya les cuento...
We wanted to see this game. Two of the teams that have done well in this start of the season. Manchester unconvincing, and Everton wanting to be consistent. We know that these games can come down to a slap in the face, metaphorically speaking. But it made some literal sense on this occasion. I'll tell you about it...
Por los de casa, me sorprendió ver a Cristiano en la banca. Pogba también. No tengo claro la idea del técnico. No sé si es un mensaje al equipo de que nadie es indispensable, o razones tácticas, o una administración de energía para los jugadores convocados. No sé... Pero el punto es que igual sacó jugadores de la rotación y de buen nivel. ¡Volvió Cavani de titular! Un 9 nato sería el referencia en la delantera.
Everton sacó lo mejor que tenía a disposición para ésta importante visita. Rondón parece haber recordado rápidamente cómo jugar en la liga inglesa porque ha lucido bien en los últimos encuentros. Detrás estaría el veloz Gray. El medio campo acostumbrado en las últimas fechas que se mantenido acoplado y unido. Los seguidores del Everton que no fueron al estadio podían estar contentos con éste planteamiento.
For the home side, I was surprised to see Cristiano on the bench. Pogba too. I'm not clear on the coach's idea. I don't know if it's a message to the team that no one is indispensable, or tactical reasons, or energy management for the players called up. I don't know... But the point is that he still took players out of the rotation and of a good level. Cavani came back as a starter! A natural 9 would be the reference up front.
Everton brought out the best they had at their disposal for this important visit. Rondon seems to have quickly remembered how to play in the English league because he has looked good in recent matches. Behind him would be the speedy Gray. The usual midfield in the last few games has been tight and cohesive. Everton fans who did not go to the stadium could be happy with this approach.
Los primeros 15 minutos los rojos dominaron el balón y lo movían con rapidez. Los pases eran muy dinámicos y bien distribuidos, por la izquierda, derecha y el centro, como midiendo al rival. Vimos mucha actividad por la izquierda con Luke Shaw y Martial encarando y regateando.
El Everton aguantó y se mantuvo ordenado. En particular me sorprendió un poco el que Rondón bajara a su propia cancha para ayudar con la defensa, aunque ésta no era tan intensa como otros equipos. Dejaron que el rival tocara el balón, y se conformaron con tratar que no pasaran mucho los balones filtrados. Quizás por eso obligaban a que Shaw y Wan-Bissaka buscaran levantar el balón y probar de cabeza.
In the first 15 minutes, the Reds dominated the ball and moved it quickly. Passes were very dynamic and well distributed, on the left, right and center, as if sizing up the opponent. We saw a lot of activity down the left with Luke Shaw and Martial facing and dribbling.

En el minuto 28 McTominay echó abajo a Gordon, y unos metros más adelante le aplicó la misma medicina a Digne, y fue entonces cuando el colegiado activó su pito. Pero el 39 rojo se molestó un poco y de mala forma intentó levantar del suelo a la fuerza a Digne. Y entonces vino el disgusto colectivo por todo lo que hizo el escoses. En el minutos 57 entraron los "nuevos", Sancho y Cristiano. Pero en menos de 10 llegó el empate en un contraataque modelo, digno de enseñarlo a los canteranos en un salón de clases. Al poco tiempo entra Pogba, y el Everton siguió haciendo lo suyo. Llegó otra oportunidad para el visitante, y el colombiano Mina logró anotar, pero anulado posteriormente por el VAR. No hubo más para nadie.
Para mi, el Everton hizo un excelente partido. Cuando defendían, se podía ver en la transmisión como las dos líneas de 4 se ponían casi paralelas al borde de tu televisor, y fue así durante todo el partido, con Salomon y Gray orbitando en la parte alta dispuestos a cambiar de ritmo cuando lo ameritaba el partido. Logran sacar un punto ante un rival directo, no pierden, ni dejan que se distancien mucho el batallón donde están. Sólo una amarilla, y pegaron menos que su rival Por su parte, el United dejó en su fanaticada la misma impresión con la que empezaron el partido, quizás con más interrogantes que respuestas.

1. DEMARAI GRAY (Everton). Entendemos 100% las razones del por qué buscaron los Toffees a éste muchacho. Conoce bien la liga y los rivales, mantiene garra y busca cambiar el ritmo a menudo durante el encuentro. Busca, entrega, sube, marca, puede imponerse físicamente... nota máxima para el inglés hoy.
2. BRUNO FERNANDES (Man Utd). Es quien dirige la orquesta en este Manchester. Simplifica las jugadas, logra pasar el balón a lugares donde otros necesitarían acomodarse más para lograrlo, tiene claridad y el respeto de sus compañeros. Entiendo bien el juego. Hoy asistió.
3. LUCAS DIGNE (Everton). Hizo todo bien por ese costado. Pegó, cortó, pasó, interceptó... Mostró claridad al materializar el juego ofensivo por ese costado, haciendo jugar mucho a Gordon, quien manejaba y pudo sacar varios centros. Todo esto lo logró sin descuidar su principal labor defensiva. Bien hecho.
Choosing a single player is very difficult. So I prefer to choose a top 3.
1. DEMARAI GRAY (Everton) We understand 100% the reasons why the Toffees looked for this guy. He knows the league and the opponents well, he keeps his grit and looks to change the pace often during the match. Searches, delivers, goes up, scores, can impose himself physically... top marks for the Englishman today.
2. BRUNO FERNANDES (Man Utd) It is he who leads the orchestra in this Manchester. He simplifies the plays, he manages to pass the ball to places where others would need to be more comfortable to do so, he has clarity and the respect of his teammates. He understands the game well. Today he assisted.

Éste fue el primer partido de la jornada. Aún ahora está en pleno, con el segundo horario. Quizás éste encuentro haya sido un reflejo de lo apretado que seguirá estando la tabla en la parte alta en, por lo menos, éste mes, donde varios quieren sacar ventaja. Por ahora, el empate le sirvió más al Everton que al United. Aún falta que de éste top se enfrenten el Liverpool y City. Veremos qué hace por su cuenta Chelsea y Brighton. ¿Quién se irá como líder absoluto al parón FIFA? Ya veremos...
This was the first game of the day. It is still in full swing now, with the second schedule. Perhaps this match was a reflection of how tight the table will remain at the top for at least this month, with several looking to take advantage. For now, the draw served Everton better than United. Honestamente, me sorprende ver al United teniendo tantos problemas en tantos partidos diferentes después de los fichajes importantes que hicieron este verano (Varane, Sancho y CR7, sobre todo CR7). Yo esperaba ver al United arrasar en la liga y ser dominante en la Champions pero nada que ver, son un equipo irregular y les cuesta ganar la mayoría de partidos. De repente mejoran con el tiempo, pero por ahora esperaba que estuvieran un poco mejor. Lo bueno es que la Premier tiene muchos candidatos y la zona alta de la tabla está bastante apretada.
No eres el unico @dedicatedguy que tenía esa visión. Cuando vemos recordamos la últimas dos temporadas vemos a un United irregular. Y esperábamos que estos fichajes taparan los huecos. Y bueno, lamentablemente aún no ha ocurrido. Y en todas las competiciones, y falta la FA CUP que iniciaría a final de año. Ya salieron de competición en la CAPITAL ONE.
