Run the Race

As I heard the alarm from my phone that keeps on ringing at 3 a.m. in the morning, I opened my eyes and it was the first day of July. Looking from the terrace, I saw a dark sky full of stars that twinkled so bright. I prayed and thanked God to have another life and another air to breathe. Not knowing that yesterday was quite stressful due to the election of class and having an issue wherein I was involved. But what's done has been done.

I fixed myself, wearing my uniform with a black and red shoes with a long white sock. At first, I was in a bit of confusion whether to tie my shoelace or not. It took me 5 minutes before I decided not to tie it. I looked at the clock and realized that I was late for leaving the house. I should have left earlier than 3:30 in the morning since I have to wait for a jeepney. I'm frustrated not to arrive on the said call time, since we should be there at 4 a.m. I arrived 4 minutes late to the meeting place.

Red and blue are the colors that blinks on the different vehicles. A lot of people are wearing their running attire. There are a lot of faces that smile at you at dawn. Some are still sleepy and some are so excited. Some took pictures, some of them are talking, and some of them are dancing zumba. As the emcee started to give instructions, some were shouting showing how excited they were. Everyone started to have their position on the starting line. "In 3, 2, and 1 the race starts now," said the emcee. Everyone started to have their first step. Others run as fast as they can as it begins. Others just walk and talk.

While running, some of my team are with those who are in front, some are in the last group, and I am in the middle. At first, I am very confident that I can run for the whole time as soon as it begins up to the finish line. But I was wrong. I started to feel exhausted when I reached the 2nd km. I walked and took a deep breath, hesitant if I should continue to run or just walk all the way. Knowing that I do not have the endurance for I have rested for a year from playing football. I was encouraged by my colleague to run slowly for me to balance my stamina and my breathing. To make this long story short, in the last 500 meters I started to run until I reached the finish line together with my colleague. Not knowing that there is something awaits me at the finish line. A medal and a certificate for those who belong to the first 300 finishers.

The twist is that, it gives me realization as I am holding the medal together with the certificate. If we try to put it in my experiences, I started my race to become a future educator as I entered my institution. I still have 2 years left before I graduate. Today, I am about to give up in the middle of the race, as I decided to give up my education this semester. I never take it seriously. Somehow at some point, life is just like running. You will not know what awaits you in the near future if you will give up right now. You will not know that there is something that you deserve for the hard work and struggles that you've gone through before reaching the finish line.

Perhaps, life is about looking up at what awaits you and not giving up because of some circumstances. Everything happens for a reason. You may get hurt, but that doesn't mean that you will hold on to that. Continue and you will see what awaits you.

Welcome to Sportstalksocial Community.

I have been upvoting content on Sports over the years but going forward I intend to vote ONLY content that meets certain requirements. Bloggers on Hive who agree to abide by these requirements will be grouped under a club that I have named ""50m Sports Power Club." Members of this club will be voted by me and my curation trail members (between us we hold about 85m SPORTS Power and still growing)

I am inviting you join this "50m Sports Power Club" I just formed. There will only be about 30-40 of you in this club, who will be accepted over the next few months.

The qualify for the club you have to agree to comply with the following terms and conditions:

  1. Subscribe to SportsTalkSocial Community, if you haven't already, and post your sports content in the SportsTalkSocial community site.

  2. Post copyright infringement/plagiarism-free content (both text and images).

    a. All image (which must your own or for which you must have a free or commercial license to use) must carry an attribution citation just below the image following this guidelines from Creative Commons License.
    b. If it is an image owned by you, follow the guidelines modifying it accordingly to suit the circumstances. For example, you do not have to cite an external source since you are the source of the image UNLESS you are a professional photographer who has a portfolio website. Or you could simply state your citation as: ©abby1622.
    c. You may use copyrighted images provided your article meets the criteria set under Fair Use doctrine. If you do decide to use copyrighted images under the Fair Use doctrine, in your attribution citation replace the phrase, "is licensed under......." with "is used under the Fair Use doctrine" and in addition you should also insert a "Fair Use Notice" at the end of your article. The Fair Use Notice must me in the format provided at the end of this comment.

  3. Your articles should contain at least 400 words in whatever language you post. (excluding the translation, if any). If you are posting a video of 5 minutes or more, then an explanatory note of about 50 words or more would do.

  4. You commit to power-up ALL your earning in SPORTS tokens regularly as you earn them until you have accumulated 50 million SPORTS Power.

  5. After reaching 50 million SPORTS Power you are required to power-up ONLY 50% of your subsequent earnings to continue getting my support. You are therefore free to use the other 50% as you like.

You may, of course, buy and power-up SPORTS tokens from the market to reach the 50m SPORTS Power target faster. You may also buy and power-up Sports tokens with the Hive tokens you earn from your articles.

Your curation rewards will increase daily as you accumulate more SPORTS Power. With increasing SPORTS Power from your curation rewards and coupled with the author rewards , it would then become increasingly easier for you to reach your target as the months roll by.

If you accept this offer, please subscribe to the SportsTalkSocial community, if you haven't already and say, "YES" in response to this comment.

Once you have reached the 50m Sports Power mark, you may if you wish start your own Club inviting others on similar terms or on your own terms.

These terms and conditions may be amended or added to in due course to clarify or to provide for unforeseen situations.

Anyone else who is reading this comment who wish to become a member of this Club, may comment below asking to be considered for an invitation.

Thank you.
