The Agustín "Coruco" Díaz Stadium is the home of the Zacatepec soccer team, with a capacity for around 24,443 spectators. This stadium is one of the most traditional in Mexico.
He was named in honor of the great extreme Agustín Díaz, champion with the Cañeros of the 50's. The player often suffered the terrible disease of leukemia, losing the fight against it just when it reached its full football.
But his great performance on the court was enough to be an idol of the fans and leave his name printed in the stadium. The old Colosseum currently demolished, proudly Morelense, was considered one of the oldest and with great history in Mexico.
Although his current name was received in November 1964, the year that the stadium was officially re-opened by the then President of Mexico, Lic. Gustavo Díaz Ordaz, there are data that were founded around 1948 to take an important step within the region, because the vision of that time in El Ingenio was precisely to direct the working population towards the enjoyment and practice of sport.
