Key Games

Brighton are yet to win since the opening day of the season and they start the weekends proceedings with a home tie against Tottenham. Spurs are fresh from a hiding by the German champions but are performing well in the league, despite rumors of a squad bust up involving player's wives, ouch! If the away team can put the midweek defeat and internal strife aside, they should continue their run against the team with the worst form in the division.

Everton, who have suffered 3 league defeats in a row, travel to Burnley who are performing reasonably well and sitting in eleventh place in the Prem at present. There are no really standout performers, Fantasy League points wise, in either side but Seamus Coleman had a cracking game against Man City last week and if The Toffees can keep a clean sheet, he could be one to side with.

One of the weekends standout games is at Anfield where the unbeaten Liverpool host an in-form Leicester team.
It's an unbeaten 1st place verses 3rd place and if that's not enough, Brendan Rodgers returns to the north west to spice things up further. There will be a strong contingent of players from Fantasy League teams on show - can Vardy break the Liverpool rear guard, or will Salah and co. collect more points for their adoring managers?

Norwich and Aston Villa will be looking behind them to see how far the relegation zone is and both will see this game as an important one in distancing themselves from the bottom three. Since beating the champions, Norwich have picked up no further points, and Aston Villa's defense has cost them recently also. Pukki has been a popular choice for #sfpl managers and maybe this is the week for him to increase his goal tally.

Watford, still without a win in the Premier League this season, host Sheffield United and must see this fixture as a good chance to finally break that duck. Again, neither side boast strong Fantasy League player credentials, but neither manager will be concerned with that.

West Ham are currently sitting pretty in a fantastic fifth position in the Premier League and could well improve on that placing even further following the home tie with Crystal Palace. It's a London derby though, and this game is likely to be as competitive as any this weekend.

Southampton had a good chance to earn points last weekend verses a ten man Spurs team but ended up with nothing and have another chance against a London club in Chelsea this coming Sunday. The Blues picked up their first home win of the season in game week 7 but have been good on the road so far and will hold no fears travelling to the south coast. Abraham has lost his goal-scoring touch of late and perhaps this is the game to reignite his golden boot challenge.

Wolves picked up their first win of the season last week but will have to go some to collect more points this time as they travel to the champions, Manchester City. The Blues were closely matched by Everton last week before gaining control of the game in the final quarter and will be looking to their star-studded attack to take the game to the away side on Sunday. KDB is again a doubt, but City have enough in their locker to come out clear winners here if the European hangover has faded by the weekend.

Arsenal have drawn three of the last four games and will be hoping that run comes to an end in the home tie verses Bournemouth. The Cherries have been playing well of late though and will likely make a game of it - Aubameyang, second only to Sergio Aguero in the striker Fantasy League points charts, the danger man for The Gunners.

Newcastle, who were whipped by Leicester last weekend, will be looking to make a mends as they face Manchester United at home in the final game of the weekend. In what was one of the big games of years gone by, you could almost guarantee goals but the same cannot be said these days - how things have changed. Here's hoping this downbeat review of this fixture sparks a 6 goal thriller!

The Steem Fantasy League

KDB overtakes Sergio Aguero in the player points chart but his availability for the weekend is in doubt. Pukki, Wilson, and Abraham remain bargain buys when points are compared to prices.

Transfers

Chelsea's Mount and Abraham are strong in the transfer market this week. And despite the the doubt against KDB playing in game week 8, some managers have found the top points scorer hard to resist.

On the contrary, almost as many managers see the the city midfielder as too much of a risk and he tops the out-going transfers at present this week. Surprisingly, Salah is also leaving a number of teams, will this be the wrong decision come close of play on Saturday - we shall see.

Best of luck with your selections this week!

Hi, the Liverpool v Leicester game should be a good one. I am sure Leicester are the underdogs but I hope they win 🤞🏽

I am a bit biased towards Midland teams as I was born and bred around there but Liverpool are playing well😉
