El domingo 14 de agosto del año 2016 durante las Olimpiadas de Rio 2016, la atleta venezolana Yulimar Rojas de origen muy humilde paso a la historia del deporte venezolano y mundial al lograr ganar la medalla de plata en la disciplina de salto triple con una marca de 14,98 metros, muy ceca de la colombiana Caterine Ibarguen quien se quedo con el oro.

On Sunday August 14, 2016 during the Rio 2016 Olympics, the Venezuelan athlete Yulimar Rojas of very humble origin passed into the history of Venezuelan and world sport by winning the silver medal in the triple jump discipline with a mark of 14.98 meters, very close to the Colombian Caterine Ibarguen who took the gold.

Esta medalla es una hazaña para el deporte venezolano, tomando en cuenta que el atletismo no es una disciplina deportiva en la que nuestro país se destaque mucho.

Actualmente esta atleta ha ganado varios campeonatos mundiales de salto triple bajo techo y ostenta el titulo de campeona mundial de la disciplina. Es una de la esperanzas olímpicas de Venezuela para ganar el oro el Tokio 2020 a parte de ser la gran favorita del salto triple para llevarse todos los honores.

Currently this athlete has won several indoor triple jump world championships and holds the title of world champion in the discipline. It is one of the Olympic hopes of Venezuela to win the gold in Tokyo 2020 apart from being the great favorite of the triple jump to take all the honors.

La carrera de Yulimar Rojas es seguida por varios niños y adolescentes que se quieren iniciar en este deporte y es un gran incentivo para que la juventud venezolana en masa practique el atletismo para ver muchos mas atletas venezolanos triunfando en esta disciplina a nivel mundial.

Yulimar Rojas' career is followed by several children and adolescents who want to start in this sport and it is a great incentive for Venezuelan youth to practice athletics en masse to see many more Venezuelan athletes succeeding in this discipline worldwide.
