The Monaco Grand Prix is over, and to the happiness of Latin America, especially in Mexico, the driver Sergio 'Checo' Perez has won after a smart strategy of the Red Bull team and a very good defense on his part in the final stage of the race. The Mexican driver was very strong throughout the weekend, outperforming teammate Max Verstappen on several occasions.

Winning in Monaco is a very important milestone in any driver's career. This achievement is considered part of the Triple Crown of Motorsport, along with winning the 500 Miles of Indianapolis and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Checo is in a very good moment, and this has been proven by winning a race in Monaco. Not only did he manage to beat his teammate, reigning champion Max Verstappen, but he did it in difficult conditions. There was very heavy rain at the start of the race and a track that you have to know how to interpret to manage the transition from wet to dry tires.

As we said in the Grand Prix preview, the Ferrari team had almost everything in its favor to triumph in Monaco unless they were beaten by the Red Bull team in terms of strategy. And this is what happened. Without detracting from Sergio Perez's victory, Ferrari threw away a victory that was almost assured after making a strategic mistake with Charles Leclerc.

Ferrari's Spanish driver, Carlos Sainz, achieved a bittersweet second place after a strategy that helped him to overtake his teammate, but did not help him to get the victory, largely thanks to how difficult it is to overtake on this track. In this way, Sainz finishes another race without being able to achieve his first victory, which will most likely come for him this year.

As last minute information, Sergio Perez has renewed his contract with the Red Bull team until 2024. A fact that was expected after the good performances of the Mexican driver. This way, several rumors about the seat of Max Verstappen's teammate are ruled out, and 'Checo' is consolidated in the Red Bull team.

In this #3Speak video for #FullDeportes, we will analyze and comment on this sporting duel between Ferrari and Red Bull for the Formula 1 world championship, in addition to other important aspects concerning what happened in the 2022 Monaco Grand Prix.

Stay tuned if you want to know more about Formula 1!.

Saludos @greengalletti
