My Actifit Report Card: April 9 2024

I did some errands with my nephew today and it was pretty nice out with intermittent rain.

This purple flower bush is an azalea I think. Please correct me I’m wrong.

The flower is very beautiful. I’m wondering if this is a different bush because these flowers are pink.

Yes this is the purple flower close up.

This is a rhododendron that is beginning to bloom and it will be gorgeous.

The rhododendron is a very light pink with almost a salmon color to it.

Here is another close up of the purple rhododendron.

Here is a mural at the transit station. The color of the bush matches the color of the mural.

Here is a close up of the bush below where some of the leaves have turned a brownish color.

Here are some of the yellow flowers that are on the bush but close up.

Here are some little orange flowers that look like the yellow flowers but more opened up.

Do any one of you know the name of the little orange and yellow flowers? Thank you.

Hey sis! The first one with the yellow is Oregon Grape. Those yellow flowers will become a blue almost blueberry like fruit. I understand it's supposed to be edible, but I like to err on the side of caution. The leaves that are reddish brown are and indication of an older part of the plant.

As for the orange blossoms; I am not sure. It looks kind of like the Oregon Grape, but I've not seen any with orange blossoms. Mountain Laurel leaves look very similar to Oregon Grape leaves, with subtle differences. I am not sure if maybe the orange one is the Mountain Laurel or not. There used to be a plant app called PlanSnap, that used to be free. Maybe see if you can download that and use that to discover.

Beautiful pictures as always; especially with the raindrops on the flowers. So fresh looking!

I found an orange Oregon grape flower on Google Here, Sis!

'Orangee Flame' is a compact cultivar of Oregon grape-holly that features bright, copper-orange new foliage contrasted against glossy, dark green mature foliage. Clusters of lemon yellow flowers bloom in early spring.

Oregon grape is a plant. The bark, root, and root-like stem (rhizome) are used to make medicine.

Oregon grape is used for scaly, itchy skin (psoriasis), eczema (atopic dermatitis), stomach problems, and other conditions, but there is no good scientific evidence to support these uses. I found it on Google on WebMD.

The Oregon Grape berries are edible too but very sour. I found this article here about Oregon Grape being edible.
