A's smoke the Phillies 12-1 in series finale | Team in Baltimore tonight vs Orioles
The A's may have lost their series vs the Phillies, but they competed well and ended with a bang, as they dominate the Phillies in the final contest, really teeing off on Phillies' starting pitcher Andrew Painter. The A's hit four two-run homers in their 12-1 victory. Shea Langeliers hit his 11th, Brent Rooker hit his 4th, Jacob Wilson hit his 3rd, and Zack Gelof hit his 3rd. I mean talk about spreading the power! This A's offense is a problem sometimes.
Of course what can't be forgotten is J.T. Ginn's mega gem! He pitched eight innings and allowed just four hits and one run! Incredible! The most he's pitched in a game prior to yesterday was 5 2/3 which he did twice, against the Rangers and Mariners. I didn't see that coming from Ginn, awesome stuff.
The Athletics stay in the northeast/mid-Atlantic as they travel a bit south to Baltimore to face the Orioles, my dad's favorite team.
The Orioles are a team I'm not too aware of. But they have Gunnar Henderson and Pete Alonso so that's always a team to respect. Weston Wilson is also a former Phillie who I always thought was pretty good. Based on looking at the O's probable pitchers, their pitching looks a little weak so let's see if this explosive A's offense can take advantage of the seemingly not-too-great O's starting pitching.
The A's still hold a 1.5 game lead in the AL West. They were already in New York not too long ago, so maybe the schedule is getting rid of their east coast games early we shall see, maybe I'll glance at the schedule later.
Let's see if Jacob Lopez can bounce back on the mound tonight!
