Cards From My Personal Collection: Ron Dugans 2002 Topps NFL Card

A pretty crisp image, and awesome action shot of Dugans!

Man I love these detailed descriptions!

Ron Dugans is a former pro wide receiver who played his college ball at Florida State from 1995-1999. Most of his production came in his final two seasons in 1998 and 1999. In those seasons, Dugans averaged 41 receptions, 630 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns a season. In his final season as a Seminole, Dugans helped the team win the National Championship when he had 5 receptions for 99 yards and 2 touchdowns! That's a way to end a college career!

Here's the 1999/00 National Championship Championship.

Dugans was then drafted in the third round of the 2000 NFL draft by the Cincinnati Bengals where he played three seasons of relatively decent production where he saw his receptions and receiving yards improve each season. But that's where his playing career would end, he wouldn't appear in another game after 2002.

This card speaks of an overtime game against the Steelers that happened on this day 22 years ago, December 30th, 2001, when Dugans made a big catch that sparked a comeback for the Bengals. Here's that game!

Dugans finished his playing career with 89 receptions, 797 receiving yards and three touchdown receptions. Nowadays he's been a coach, mainly in college.
