Phillies collapse late vs the Nationals yesterday...

Uhhhh yeah so the Phillies choked big time yesterday. Jhoan Durán is indeed human and blew a save opportunity yesterday for the first time as a Phillie. The Nationals have proven to be seriously annoying opponents for the Phillies. The Nationals not only got the better of Durán yesterday but the Nationals are also the team that hit the line drive that smashed into his foot the other day! Crazy. Some teams are just tough matchups. BUT still the Phillies can win the series if they win these next two. Also, the Nationals won't be in the playoffs so if anything this is just a chance for the Phillies to be a bit humbled, maybe it will be beneficial for them in the long run, especially after dominating the Mariners as they did. I still have a ton of faith in Durán! Stott and Realmuto did homer yesterday though which is good of course, both guys are not super powerful hitters, but recently they have been homering at a decent rate!

Aaron Nola is on the mound today as he tries to just get through a handful of innings without disaster striking. This is pretty much the worst season of his career and it's rough to watch him struggle but man, I am starting to lose a little faith. This will be interesting, I'm curious to see how the fans react in Philly if he can't get it done.

The Phillies still hold a six game lead in the NL East. With only 34 games left, the math is definitely on their side! I'm ready! The weather seems to be on point today so it should be a nice day at the stadium.
