Phillies earn a tightly contested victory over Rockies, winning the series! | Taijuan Walker on the mound for Game 3
Yesterday's game was relatively uneventful overall. Those type of games typically mean your pitcher is pitching well but it also means your offense is struggling and your team has a 50/50 shot at winning.
For the Phillies, it was their day as they found victory 2-1 out in Denver, officially winning the series! Philadelphia's pitching was just sharper and their bats were just crisper enough to find victory! Justin Crawford got his first steal of his career! I imagine there will be many more from him, as he's a speedster!
Jesús Luzardo was locked in on the mound! He struck out 11 Rockies in 6 2/3 innings, allowing just a single run! He totally redeemed himself from his tough debut. It was vs the Rockies, who were terrible in 2025, but they're still pros and the win counts all the same! You gotta start somewhere. The Phillies offense was struggling themselves all night anyway so his start was in fact very clutch!
Taijuan Walker is on the mound today so I'm a bit worried as he is extremely inconsistent and I fear he's regressing at this point in his career. Considering his recent seasons, and him getting a little older now, I don't think it's an outrageous thing to say. BUT Walker has surprised me from time to time. He is very experienced and the Rockies aren't too intimidating for the most part. The Phillies offense hopefully won't be held back as much two days in a row as well.
It's Easter baseball out in Denver! Let's hope it ends well for the Phils and they secure their first sweep of the season!
HAPPY EASTER!!!
