Phillies get crushed in series finale vs A's | The Rockies in Philly tonight

Well the Phillies got crushed last night. As a fan of both the A's and Phillies, the series went well enough. The Phillies needed the wins more but didn't sweep the A's. The A's got a smidge of revenge last night despite the series loss, as they completely destroyed the Phillies in the series finale. The A's hit four two-run home runs in the 12-1 beatdown. Phillies' rookie starting pitcher Andrew Painter may not be good enough for the MLB at this point of his career I'm afraid. He allowed eight runs in 3 2/3 innings of action. I think he could just use some more time in the minors for now, but we'll see. He's 1-4 now, with a 6.89 ERA. The Phillies lone homer, which cut the lead 8-1 LOL, was by Kyle Schwarber, it was Kyle's 12th of the season.

But all in all the Phillies look a lot better than how they looked a week or so ago. Improvements across the board. It was going to be hard to sweep this A's team.

The Phillies move on to face the similarly struggling Colorado Rockies. But I like the Phillies' chances especially with how they've been looking recently. Brandon Marsh and Bryce Harper have both been looking good.

The Phillies are still four games below .500 though so there's still a lot of work to be done. They're nine games behind the Braves in the NL East so that's not great. By the time this series ends the Phillies will be 1/4 of the way through their season! Kinda crazy.

Lets see if Luzardo can pitch well a third start in a row!
