Phillies have won 4 of 5! Look to Sweep Blue Jays this afternoon! + A.D. Hammer RTTS Part 65
The Phillies are winners of two straight and as my title mentions, they've won four of five games! I'd say they're pretty much out of their slump, but I would hesitate to say they're like, totally fully on track. Still, this is a very nice start to turning things around. Being that they started the season quite strong, they earned the privilege to have a slump as they did. Let's hope that isn't a habit though.
On Friday, the Phils had a very dominant win both pitching and hitting as they won 8-0. Ranger Suárez was absolutely surgical on the mound, pitching seven scoreless innings. Schwarber hit another homer, this time a three run shot. Every Philly in the batting order reached base, Castellanos was the only guy to not record a hit. It was their 40th win!
Yesterday's game was not as dominant hitting wise, but they still got the job done, Max Kepler delivered a massive late solo home run that gave the Phillies the one run lead and eventual 3-2 win.
All in all, I have been really pleased as a Phillies fan. J.T. Realmuto has been warming up, Alec Bohm has been consistent, Kepler and Marsh have also shown signs of life. Rookie Otto Kemp has shown strong potential as well.
After losing a series to the Blue Jays not very long ago, this series has been great to see. Sweeping the Blue Jays would feel even better and tomorrow they have that opportunity! With Zack Wheeler on the mound, I think the likelihood is strong!
Early game tomorrow, I'm glad I can get this one out now.
