Phillies lose in extras to Rockies yesterday | Aaron Nola on the mound today as Phillies try to even up the series
Well after a couple of strong starts by Jesús Luzardo he threw another rough one against the Rockies. He allowed six runs in three innings of work. Two runs per inning is typically not desirable, ya know? But I gotta give the Phillies' offense a TON of credit. They almost made a fantastic 6-0 comeback beginning in the sixth when Kyle Schwarber hit his 13th homer, it was a solo shot. In the eighth Brandon Marsh continues to shine and officially started a rally. Then, the bottom of the lineup and a rookie came through. Bryson Stott hits a two-run double and Justin Crawford hit a two-run homer to tie up the game. Crawford has some clutch stuff to him I swear!
Oh yeah, it was also JUSTIN CRAWFORD'S FIRST MLB HOMER!!!

So yeah, despite their second straight loss and poor pitching, it still ended up becoming an awesome game with a memorable moment! Not a bad consolation prize after a loss! They had a chance to win.
But yeah, the Phillies send out another struggling pitcher in today's ball game, Aaron Nola. Nola has just been really inconsistent and even when he's been not terrible, it's not as if his 'good' starts have been very quality for the most part. A passable start by Nola these days is if he gave up no more than three runs in five innings. Again, if that's like your fifth starter I suppose that's not too bad, but Nola was better than this for most of his career. I'd love to see him return to 2024 and earlier Nola.
Let's see how the game goes, and season unfolds!
