Phillies tie up series with Colorado | Cristopher Sánchez on the mound today to try and win series
Yikes running late with these posts but what else is new. Still want to stay up to date with my teams!
The third inning is where the Phillies left their mark on this game yesterday. Alec Bohm started things off with a solo shot in the third inning that tied the game. Then Kyle Schwarber hit a three-run missile, it was his 14th of the season. Schwarber has now homered in three consecutive games! It's such a joy watching that man play!
Then in the very next inning, Bohm hits another homer to give him two on the day! This second homer was Bohm's third of the season. He hadn't hit a homer since Opening Day on March 26th, forty-four days days prior! Nuts!
Aaron Nola was a bit underwhelming on the mound even when the Phillies held a 5-1 lead. He couldn't get through five innings of work without allowing three runs. Similar to what I said about him yesterday! But since the Phillies' offense has been superb, his weak performance will somewhat go under the radar again. In a sport of bottom lines I suppose that's whatever for now.
As I mentioned before also, once today's game is completed, the Phillies will be 25% done with their season! Pretty hard to believe right? Time flies. Especially when I'm covering TWO baseball teams. It's been hard but I am getting used to it and can do better. I'm writing on sports man! I'm lucky! I'll try to be more timely but late's better than never when it comes to at least covering the season in full (for the most part).
Let's win this series and move on Phillies!
