Shane Victorino 2008 Topps MLB Card - Philadelphia Phillies Outfielder - Phillies World Series Year!

Shane Victorino man, what a freakin' legend. Easily one of my favorite players ever. I know many other people who would say the same thing about 'The Flyin' Hawaiian'.

Mr. Victorino ended up achieving a bit of further greatness during his post-Phillies career, but Shane's prime years were certainly in the Keystone State. In the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia, as a member of the Phillies.

There's a lot of reasons Shane Victorino was so well liked as a Phillie and as a baseball player in general. Shane was a good baseball player but also, he was an exciting player! Shane was a legit athlete man! He was a steady hitter with fair power. He was a serious speedster who could steal a base on anyone. His great speed assisted him in the outfield to track down fly balls efficiently. His arm was really strong to match.

I mean, the dude didn't have a weakness really. He was like an above average, starting caliber utility player. Just a real treat to watch.

To top it all off, Shane was/is a good dude. Often caught smiling and laughing and having a good time.

Of course the ULTIMATE icing on the cake was the fact that Shane was a key member of that STACKED Phillies team that went on that magical World Series run in 2008!!

These fan made vids can be a tough watch, but man their authenticness and rawness are just hard to beat. What a trip. I was not online much at this point in time. I forget the internet existed during this Phillies championship. It's like I'm reliving it a bit!

Shane Victorino was simply a massive part of my childhood and he's simply a massive part of Phillies lore!

What makes this card just a little more special, is that this is a 2008 Phillies team card. This picture is a piece of that special season. Epic stuff!

What also strikes me about this card, is that the quality is indeed outstanding, but I still can tell that the picture is either aging, or I am used to seeing more modern quality photos. Despite the fact that back in 2008 this picture seemed elite and as good as it gets, picture quality must have indeed improved over the past 14 years!

I'm super glad to own this card. Takes me back instantly! Time flies, mercilessly.

After Shane was a Phillie, Boston fans got a taste of why Shane was so beloved in Philly. Shane was a BIG part of the Red Sox World Series in 2013. I am so glad a good guy and player saw some more great memories with another team. He definitely deserved it.

What a beast. My Papou is a Red Sox fan, I am glad Shane could be a legend on that squad too!
