The Titans saw victory on Friday in their preseason game vs the Falcons. It's just preseason but it's always nice to see the Titans win! Rookie tight end Gunnar Helm continues to look pretty excellent. He's been getting strong reviews in training camp and it translated to the field on Friday in a very noticeable way. He recorded 4 receptions for 48 yards and scored a really nice touchdown while being double covered. He just looks like a natural out there!

Defensively the Titans didn't look amazing, but they definitely looked better than in their first preseason game. I was thinking 'oh man this defense isn't looking too hot once again' and then BAM safety Kendell Brooks goes and snags a pick six! The Titans depth in the secondary is a bit shaky and so to see a guy deeper in the depth chart make a play was nice to see.

Cam Ward looked a lot like a rookie on Friday, definitely looked a bit uncomfortable. The receivers didn't help a ton either but yeah. Ward did start strong with a big completion to fellow rookie receiver Elic Ayomanor which was great to see. Love seeing that rookie to rookie connection. It could be something we see for the next decade, who knows!

Ward made big statements the other day regarding how good the Titans could be, played poorly on Friday, and is now apparently fighting Jeffery Simmons at practice? Uhhhhh. I'm not gonna lie this isn't giving me a bunch of confidence about Ward at this point but meh what do I know?

Maybe Ward will prove himself as an intense guy or something and this is kinda just how he is. As a Titans fan I am still getting used to him I suppose. Some people are framing this as a leadership thing or something but I don't know how I feel.

Let's see how things develop. Maybe I'm overthinking this too much but, like I said, after the bold predictions and the not so great performance and now this, my brain is struggling to compute. I like Jeffery Simmons a lot, he has proven himself as a great Titan and so yeah this is just a bit strange.

Let's see, maybe Cam really is just that guy! I am hoping he is and I can look back on this as Cam establishing himself as a leader.
