Titans selected Ole Miss ILB Chance Campbell with the #219 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft

Well it took me long enough, but I'm happy to be finishing up making these Titans' draft picks posts. It's been nice watching clips of the team's rookies on social media after doing research and writing about them here. It makes everything more exciting, I feel like I know these rookies more than in past seasons. It's hard to explain. It makes the off-season kind of more interesting. I like it.

With the their final pick in this year's draft the Titans selected Ole Miss inside linebacker Chance Campbell. I was just watching the Titans-Dolphins game highlights from this past season a few minutes ago, and I was thinking that the Titans really might need some help at inside linebacker since they lost Jayon Brown and Rashaan Evans. Then I realize the Titans have addressed this problem a bit by drafting Mr. Campbell, DUH!

One of the first things that come to mind when I hear a name like Chance Campbell, is that his name sounds like he's some sort of country music star or something. It's got a ring to it, LOL. Good thing he's gonna be in Nashville, the country music capital. Although I have no clue if he actually likes country music or anything.

When I looked up Chance, I realized he actually has an NFL.com draft profile page. I find this just mildly interesting because Chance was a pretty late-round draft pick AND the Titans' pick from just a selection earlier, Theo Jackson, didn't have an NFL.com draft profile. I guess NFL.com and the Titans front office had slightly differing opinions of Jackson and Campbell. Of course team needs come into play too and NFL.com can only create so many pre-draft profiles. Just kinda interesting.

So, right off the bat Chance fills a positional need for the Titans. Watching his highlights Chance is not the fastest guy ever but this dude checks a large portion of boxes otherwise. He is alert, attentive, and physical. He has nice stature. Not like bursting with magazine cover muscle, but the kid is wide and rather tall.

One cool aspect of Chance's game is that the dude is a dawg. Sometimes the Titans tend to lean toward picking supremely clean cut do your job guys and of course that is a smart philosophy. Chance is a do your job guy, but he also seems pretty mean and feisty out there. He will get grimey and get his nose dirty. It almost brings a tear to my eye. HA!

Only three out of nine Titans' 2022 draft picks were defensive and I believe all three of them have this chip on their shoulder mentality but not too much that it's a bad thing. Only three defensive selections for the Titans, but I believe there's a good chance the trio will pack a punch! A shutdown corner, a versatile safety, and a physical inside linebacker to help support that great d-line.

Campbell is a sixth round draft choice, so it's hard to say for sure where his career will go, but hopefully he can contribute soon!

Welcome Mr. Campbell, #Titanup
