The Titans were not very shy when it came to drafting offenisve weapons in this draft. I mean they've drafted several wide receivers, a running back, a dang QB, a tight end and an offensive lineman. I mean sheesh, I like the aggression. This draft feels like a mini re-build done in a sort of low-key sneaky fashion. Meanwhile, I believe the Titans can really compete this season. Maybe I'm biased but man, J-Rob is clutch. On paper, this draft seems slick, I like what I see!

With the Titans' lone fifth round selection they chose a player that perhaps one day could become the Titans slot receiver of the future LOL. That may sound silly, but there have been some pretty legendary receivers that have made massive impacts on the game of football. A go-to slot receiver has been a sort of forgotten art, but ask Patriots fans just how deadly a good slot receiver can be. As a matter of fact ask a Falcons fan how lethal Julian Edelman was....

The Titans chose UCLA wide receiver Kyle Phillips and watching Phillips, he reminds me a lot like a smaller version of Eric Decker. Decker was a versatile and quick wide receiver for eight seasons in the NFL. He played in Tennessee for a season and had some ok moments with the team. But the Titans had Decker past his prime, with Mr. Phillips the Titans will have his services as a young man.

Titans GM Jon Robinson is basically simultaneously giving Ryan Tannehill a fair amount of young and veteran offensive talent AND telling him that the team does have at least a loose backup plan if Ryan can't produce.

I like the vibes GM Jon Robinson is putting out there. The cuteness of Tannehill's initial arrival is fading quick.

The Titans have been bounced in the first round twice in a row. Derrick Henry had a pretty significant injury last year. The Titans lost star receiver A.J. Brown. The window for a championship is shrinking very fast, but the Titans are trying to really re-load quick, fast, and in a hurry. I like how they've creatively and proactively approached this off-season as a whole.

Adding Kyle Phillips brings depth and competition in the receiver room, and he brings versatility with some really good special teams skills. Kyle has a solid enough NFL frame and shows flashes of playing pretty big and physical at times. That's something that kind of came as a pleasant surprise for me. If his career unfolds well and he works hard, he may have more of a future in the league than just a 'slot guy'. Who knows!

Phillips seems like a good hard working dude in his interview with the Titans.

Welcome to Tennessee Mr. Phillips. The Titans need all the pass catchers they can get. #Titanup!!
