T20 World Cup : Four Teams Have Qualified for the Semi Finals

Two matches were played between New Zealand vs Afghanistan and Pakistan vs Scotland. After these two matches, we had two semi finalist confirmed from group 2 as well.

Pakistan and New Zealand have now qualified for the semi finals against England and Australia.

New Zealand vs Afghanistan

First match was played between New Zealand and Afghanistan. Afghanistan batting first put 124 runs on the score board, which was not enough to defend against a stronger team of New Zealand.

Najibullah Zadran scored 73 runs being the top scorer for Afghanistan. Trent Boult from New Zealand bowled 3 batters.


New Zealand batting second chased the score in 18.1 overs with 8 wickets in hand. New Zealand captain Kane Williamson being the top scorer made 40 runs.


Pakistan vs Scotland

Pakistan being the favourites batted first and made 189 runs for four wickets on the board. Babar Azam the captain made 66 runs with Shoaib Malik 54 runs on the board.


Scotland batting second was only able to make 117 runs in 20 overs with 4 wickets in hand. Scotland lost the match to Pakistan by 72 runs.

Richie Berrington was the top scorer for Scotland who made 54 runs.


New Zealand after defeating Afghanistan confirmed its seat for the semi finals and Indian team is out of the race of semi finals while they were hoping that Afghanistan defeat New Zealand.
