2026 Final Four Recap: Michigan and UConn Head to the Championship Game (English/Spanish)
On Saturday in Indianapolis, I really enjoyed both games—it was a sports extravaganza where one of the favorites ultimately came out on top, but not before treating us to some incredibly tense moments. Here’s how the finalists were decided:
UConn (2) 71 - 62 Illinois (3)
The UConn Huskies showed why they are the reigning two-time champions. Although Illinois fought until the end and closed the gap to just four points in the final minute, UConn’s experience proved decisive.
UConn built a lead of up to 14 points in the second half. The Huskies controlled the pace and closed out the game at the free-throw line.
Illinois is eliminated on its “home” court, and UConn advances to its third consecutive final, seeking a historic “three-peat.”
Michigan (1) 91 - 73 Arizona (1)
In the matchup between the No. 1 seeds, the Michigan Wolverines were a true steamroller from the tip-off.
Aday Mara led the rout with 26 points and 9 rebounds, dominating the paint from start to finish.
Michigan’s star forward, Yaxel Lendeborg, suffered an injury to his ankle and left knee but returned to play 14 more minutes.
Michigan advances to its first national final since 2018, proving that they are the most balanced team in the tournament.
The grand final will be on Monday, April 6, at the same venue, Lucas Oil Stadium, where the decisive showdown will take place and the new champion will be crowned.

El sábado en Indianápolis disfruté mucho de los 2 duelos, fue una fiesta deportiva donde 1 de los favoritos terminó imponiendo su ley, pero no sin antes dejarnos momentos de muchísima tensión. Así se definieron los finalistas:

Los Huskies de UConn demostraron por qué son los actuales bicampeones. Aunque Illinois peleó hasta el final y se puso a solo cuatro puntos en el último minuto, la experiencia de UConn pesó más.
UConn llegó a sacar hasta 14 puntos de ventaja en la segunda mitad. Los Huskies controlaron el ritmo y supieron cerrar el juego en la línea de libres.
Illinois queda eliminado en su "casa" y UConn se mete en su tercera final consecutiva, buscando el histórico "Three-peat".
