Luego de la muerte del ídolo argentino Diego Armando Maradona a finales del año pasado, empezaron a proliferar murales con su figura, al menos en la zona donde yo vivo, en el interior de la provincia de Buenos Aires.

After the death of Argentine idol Diego Armando Maradona at the end of last year, murals with his figure began to proliferate, at least in the area where I live, in the interior of the province of Buenos Aires.

El mural de la foto fue pintado hace algunos pocos meses en una pared de la plaza de Pueblo Doyle. A juzgar por la inscripción fue realizado por una agrupación política y lleva un texto que dice: “El que vive en el pueblo nunca muere”. Y, por supuesto, si alguien vive en el pueblo argentino y lo simboliza tan adecuadamente, tanto en sus defectos como en sus virtudes, es sin duda Maradona.

The mural in the photo was painted a few months ago on a wall in the plaza of Pueblo Doyle. Judging by the inscription it was done by a political group and bears a text that says: "He who lives in the people never dies". And, of course, if anyone lives in the Argentine people and symbolizes them so adequately, both in their faults and virtues, it is undoubtedly Maradona.

Pueblo Doyle es un pueblo rural muy pequeño y tranquilo, de unos 500 habitantes según el último censo (¡que fue hace más de 10 años!). Se encuentra en el partido de San Pedro, provincia de Buenos Aires.

Pueblo Doyle is a very small and quiet rural town of about 500 inhabitants according to the last census (which was more than 10 years ago!). It is located in the district of San Pedro, province of Buenos Aires.
