My Actifit Report Card: April 2 2024| 1.Outdoor Coffee Break Set/1.アウトドア・コーヒーブレイクセット/[ENG/JPN]

I finally got around to putting together the article I wanted to post.
This is the "outdoor coffee set" that I bring when I go camping.
It is a "coffee tool set" that I take with me when I "decamp" without overnight stays, and I will take this set with me if I am in a place where fire is allowed.

Sometimes I take gas canisters (gas can and gas burner) filled with liquid gas, but this time I photographed the equipment when packing an alcohol stove.

I took a lot more pictures than I thought I would, and I wanted to write a proper article about it, so I decided to post it in three parts.
This is the first installment.

This is the cotton bag that can hold all of this coffee set.
It is 32 cm wide, 17 cm high (deep), and 5 cm wide at the bottom, making it compact but able to hold and carry quite a lot of various tools.

The green bottle is a 0.38L water bottle. Filling this water bottle full of water makes about 2 cups of coffee.
If there is a water station on the way to your destination and you can draw water from a spring or other source, you can fill this bottle with water.

If the destination is "where the use of firearms is prohibited," I boil water at home and fill the bottle with water that can be kept warm before leaving my home, but even in that case, I take this water bottle with me and sometimes fetch delicious spring water as a souvenir.

This tiny little can is for coffee beans. Can you see the coffee beans inside?
The original use of this can was as a "tea canister" to hold tea leaves, etc. When I went to China about 20 years ago, I bought a can of Chinese tea in this can as a souvenir.

The can is so small that if you put a measuring spoon in it to measure coffee beans, the inside would be full, but it can hold just the right amount of coffee beans for a few outdoor coffee breaks.

Since it was originally designed to hold tea leaves, it is reasonably tightly sealed and safe.
I love the size and it is a very cute little thing.

This is a handy type coffee mill.
It has a special and durable rubber type band, and the handle can be removed and held in the band.
When grinding coffee beans, you can hold this rubber band part with light force because it is non-slip.
The top lid is opened to insert coffee beans, and the handle is turned to mill grind coffee powder into the container in the lower part of the machine.

The milling is done with ceramic teeth, and by turning the central, cross-shaped knob, you can adjust the grind of the coffee beans from very finely ground to coarsely ground.
When these ceramic teeth wear out, you can purchase only this part and replace it yourself.

I brew my coffee with a "paper filter", a "metal filter", or a "machinetta".
Of the three, if I adjust the brewing with the Makinetta, it is almost impossible for the fine powder to spill out and get into the extracted coffee side in large quantities.

The dripper is an assembled type, and when disassembled, it is about 5 mm thick and compact.

When assembled, it takes the shape of a triangular pyramid like this, into which a paper filter is set.
It can be set in almost any size cup with enough room to spare.

Traditionally, I have used a paper filter because it is easy to dispose of waste.
The entire paper filter can be placed in a garbage bag and disposed of as burnable garbage. I have been focusing on making it easier to take it home as trash and dispose of it when I get home, but recently I decided to stop using the paper filter because I wanted to shift my behavior to "reducing trash".

There are no pictures in this article, but "reusable filters" were available very inexpensively, and I recently switched to them altogether. They are polyester filters made in Japan and are cone shaped for 1~3 cups.

If you are camping, you can wash them in the cooking building in most cases, and even if you are not, it is better to have one that can be used repeatedly by removing only the ground coffee beans.
As for me, I have actually found that I don't mind the hassle at all after using it repeatedly.

These are mugs.
Both are made of titanium with a 300mL capacity, and the handles are foldable for compactness.

The reason why you need two is that these two mugs are used for "using one as a kettle to boil water" and "drinking coffee with the other one.
Bringing a separate kettle or pot to boil water adds to the fun but also increases the amount of luggage (laughs).
Although infrequent, coffee sets are sometimes used on mountain hikes, and in that case you have to be creative to reduce the amount of luggage. This is because there is a limit to what I can carry in my own sack.
In this regard, it is acceptable to carry only two mugs.

But of course, the amount of water that can be boiled in these mugs is 200 to 250 mL, so you cannot "boil the amount of water needed for a regular size cup of ramen with this.
In that case, I would bring a kettle or a pot, but even in that case, I really enjoy selecting outdoor cookers and think about coordinating them in various ways.

One of these mugs has a lid.
In the summer, insects can dive into the cup when you are outside filling it with beverages, but the lid prevents that from happening.
Also, when boiling water, this lid makes it more efficient.

Sealed plastic bags.
We will bring several of these as garbage bags.
In addition to these, we will also bring plastic bags, which are not particularly sealable, but are also necessary.
This will come in handy if you will have moist trash.
After you throw away the trash inside, you can wash it clean and use it as a trash bag again.

I made sure that the fire was completely extinguished, and after pouring a little water on it to make it safe, I put it in a regular plastic bag and brought it back home, but my bag had a very strong smell of cigarettes. I then put it in a regular plastic bag and brought it back home.
At that time, I did not have such a bag that could be sealed and blocked the smell, so I realized the necessity of such a bag.
It is useful to have a few thick plastic bags of this type, as they are useful when picking up trash and also in other emergencies.

When I came home yesterday, I found that my house was without power due to a small problem (^^;).
This caused a malfunction in my internet connection equipment and I was unable to use Wi-Fi last night.
Today, after resetting the modem, initializing the router, etc., I got it back.
Well, I really can't do anything without an Internet connection (Wi-Fi connection) (lol).

投稿したかった記事をやっとまとめることが出来ました。
私がキャンプに行く時に持参する「アウトドア・コーヒーセット」です。
宿泊をしない「ディキャンプ」の時にも持って行きますし、火の使用が許可されている場所であればこのセットを持っていくよ、という「コーヒーツールセット」です。

液体ガスが詰めてあるガスカートリッジ（ガス缶とガスバーナー）を持って行くこともありますが、今回はアルコールストーブをパッキングした場合の装備を撮影してみました。

丁寧に撮影したら思ったより随分とたくさんの写真になり、せっかくだからちゃんと記事も書きたくて、試行錯誤していたら文字数もかなりの量になってしまったので、3回に分けて投稿することにしました。
今回は第1回です。

これがこのコーヒーセットを全て詰め込めるコットンのバッグです。
幅が32cm、高さ（深さ）が17cm、底の幅が5cmあって、コンパクトなんですけど色々な道具をかなりたくさん納めて運ぶことができます。

グリーンのボトルは、0.38Lの水筒です。この水筒にいっぱい水を入れると、約2杯分のコーヒーになります。
目的地までの途中に水場があり、湧水などが汲んでいける場合はこのボトルに水を汲みます。

目的地が「火器の使用が禁止されている場合」は、自宅でお湯を沸かして保温できるボトルに詰めてから自宅を出発するのですが、その場合でもこの水筒は持っていって、美味しい湧き水をお土産に汲んでくることがあります。

この小さな小さな缶は、コーヒー豆を入れておくものです。中にコーヒー豆が入っているのが見えますか？
元々の用途は「紅茶などの葉を入れておく茶筒」で、20年くらい昔に中国へ行った時に、この缶に入った中国茶をお土産に買いました。

コーヒー豆を計量するスプーンを入れたら中がいっぱいになってしまうくらい小さな缶ですが、アウトドアで数回のコーヒーブレイクをするのにちょうど良い量のコーヒー豆を入れておくことができます。

元々お茶の葉を入れておくものですから、適度に密栓されて安心です。
大きさもとても可愛いものでお気に入りです。

これはハンディタイプのコーヒーミルです。
特殊で丈夫なゴムタイプのバンドが付いていて、ハンドルは外してバンドに挟んでおくことができます。
コーヒー豆を挽く時は、このゴムバンド部分を持つと、滑りにくいので軽い力でホールドできます。
上の蓋を開けてコーヒー豆を入れ、ハンドルを回してミル挽きすると、下の部分の容器にコーヒーの粉が入るような構造になっています。

ミルはセラミック製の歯で行われるようになっていて、中心になる十時型のつまみを回すことで、極細挽きから粗挽きまで、コーヒー豆の挽き具合を調節できるようになっています。
このセラミックの歯がすり減ってきたら、この部品のみ購入して自分で交換できます。

私がコーヒーを淹れるのは「ペーパーフィルタ」「金属フィルタ」「マキネッタ」のどれかになります。
この3つのうち、マキネッタで入れる調整にしておけば、細かい粉が流出して抽出コーヒー側に大量に入り込んでしまう、ということはほとんどありません。

私がアウトドアコーヒーを淹れるのは「ペーパーフィルタ」「金属フィルタ」「マキネッタ」のどれかなのですが、今回はペーパーフィルタをご紹介します。

写真のペーパーフィルタとドリッパーを持ち歩いています。
ドリッパーは組み立て式のもので、分解すると厚さ5mmくらいになるのでコンパクトになります。

組み立てるとこのような三角錐の形になり、ここにペーパーフィルタをセットします。
ほとんどどんな大きさのカップにも十分余裕を持ってセットすることができます。

この3枚の板を組み立ててドリッパーを作って、この中にペーパーフィルタをセットして、その中にミルで挽いたコーヒー豆を入れて、お湯を入れてコーヒーを抽出します。

従来、私がペーパーフィルタを使ってきたのは、やはりゴミの処分が簡単だからです。
抽出し終わったペーパーフィルタまるごとゴミ袋に入れて燃えるゴミとして処分できます。ゴミとして持ち帰って帰宅してからも捨てやすくすることを重視していたのですが、最近「ゴミを減らす」ことに自分の行動をシフトさせたくて、ペーパーフィルタをやめてみることにしました。

今回の記事には写真がないのですが「繰り返し使えるフィルター」がとても安く購入できてたので、最近私は完全にそれに切り替えました。日本製のポリエステルのフィルターで、1~3杯用の円錐型のものです。

キャンプ場であれば、ほとんどの場合、炊事棟で洗い物ができるし、そうじゃない場合であっても挽いたコーヒー豆だけ取り除けば繰り返し使えるものの方が良いです。
私としては実際に繰り返し使ってみて、手間は全然気にならないことがわかりました。

こちらはマグカップです。
どちらも300mL容量のチタン製のもので、取っ手が折りたためるのでコンパクトになります。

なぜ2つ必要かというと、この2つのマグカップを「1つをお湯を沸かすケトルとして使用」して「もう1つの方でコーヒーを飲む」という用途にに使います。
お湯を沸かすのに別途ケトルやポットを持っていくと、楽しみは増えるけど荷物も増える（笑）
頻度は少ないのですが、コーヒーセットは山登りでも使うことがあり、その場合は工夫して荷物を減らさないといけません。自分のザックに入れて持っていけるものには限りがあるからです。
その点、マグカップ2個を持っていく程度であれば許容範囲です。

でも、もちろんこのマグカップで沸かすことができるお湯の量は200〜250mLですから「これでカップラーメンのレギュラーサイズに必要な量のお湯を沸かす」ということはできないんですよね。
その場合はケトルやポットを持っていくのですが、その場合もアウトドアのクッカーを選定するのは本当に楽しくて、色々とコーディネートを考えてしまいます。

このマグカップのうち片方には蓋がついています。
夏場は外でコップに飲料を入れていると虫さんがダイビングしてくることがありますが、蓋をすることでそれを防ぐことができます。
また、お湯を沸かす時はこの蓋があることで効率よくお湯を沸かせます。

密封できるプラスチックバッグ。
これはゴミ袋として数枚持っていきます。
これ以外に、特に密封はできないビニール袋も持っていきますが、これも必要です。
水分を含んだゴミが出る場合はこれが活躍します。
中のゴミを捨てた後は、きれいに洗えばまたゴミを入れる袋として利用できます。

実は以前、日帰り登山に行った時、山頂の休憩場所にタバコの吸い殻が捨ててあったので、火がもう完全に消えていることを確認して、さらに水を少しかけて安全にした上で、普通のビニール袋に入れて私が持ち帰ったのですが、私のバッグにものすごくしっかりとタバコの臭いがついてしまいました。
その時、こういう密閉できて、臭いも遮断出来る袋を持っていなかったので、必要性を痛感しました。
ゴミ拾いをする時にも役立つし、それ以外でも何か非常時には役立つので、このタイプの厚手のプラスチック袋を何枚か持っていると重宝するものです。

ここまでが第1回の内容です。

■ひとこと日記
昨日帰宅したらちょっとしたトラブルで自宅が停電状態になっていました(^^;)
その影響でインターネット接続機器にも不調が生じて、昨夜はWi-Fiが使えませんでした。
今日、モデムをリセットしたりルーターを初期化したり色々やって復旧しました。
いやーインターネット接続（Wi-Fiによる接続）が無いと本当に何もできないですね（笑）
