Avg 10K+ steps a day: how I made it in April / 四月は1日平均1万歩超え! (My Actifit Report Card: May 1 2024)

At the beginning of April, I set goals for the 2nd quarter of 2024. One of my goals was to "establish an exercise routine: walk at least 5,000 steps daily and do yoga or pilates four times a week." I've made it!

After receiving 5,000 AFIT from @hive-ja , I was motivated to walk and write a post. Since I started tracking my steps on my smartphone in 2018 and probably also for the first time in my life, I made average 10,000 steps per day 🙌 I'm so happy about my achievement 😁



Initially, I was aiming to eliminate days when I walk only a few hundred steps. The key to make 10K steps is to "walking a little bit at a time" as @go-kyo commented. It takes a lot of energy and stamina to walk all at once, which may not be sustainable. So I do a little in the morning when I bring my daughter to school, a little when I go out for shopping in day time, and then make up the shortfall at night if it's possible.

Also, it might be a good idea to create a purpose for a walk. I take books and other miscellaneous items that we don't use much at home to exchange shelves. I also enjoy picking up nice things from the "Zu Verschenken" (give away) boxes on streets and seeing nice houses to dream about my future office.

I do yoga in the morning almost every day except when I am on vacation, and also at night when I have time and energy. I participate in a live pilates class every Monday, so I achieved the yoga and pilates goal too.

I hope to continue exercising this month without slowing down, but without pushing myself too hard.

4月の初めに桑名正典さんの動画を見て、四半期の目標を立てました。目標の一つに「運動習慣の確立: 毎日最低5,000歩を歩き、週に4回ヨガまたはピラティスを行う。」というものがありました。

Hive JAに5000AFITいただいて、歩いて投稿するモチベーションが上がっていたこともあり、なんと、2018年からスマートフォンで歩数を記録し始めて、初めて1日平均1万歩を達成しました 🙌 全然アクティブな人生ではなかったので、多分人生初めてです、うれしいのでそういうことにしておきましょう 😁



当初は、一日で数百歩しか歩いていない日をなくすのを目指していたので、よくがんばりました。

達成のコツは、@go-kyo さんがコメントしてくれた「ちょこちょこ歩く」でした。一気に歩くのは気力と体力がいるので、朝子供を送ったりしてちょこっと、昼に出かけてちょこっと、足りない分は夜に埋め合わせる感じです。

あと、歩きに行く目的を作るのもよいかもしれません。私は断捨離と称してうちであまり使っていない本や雑貨を「あげます・もらいます」の棚に持っていっています。道端に落ちている「Zu Verschenken」 (あげます)の箱からいいものを拾ったり、理想の家を眺めて歩いたりするのも楽しいです。

ヨガとピラティスについても旅行中以外はほぼ毎日朝ヨガをしていて、時間と体力があれば夜も、毎週月曜日はピラティスのライブクラスに参加しているので合格でしょう。

今月もペースを落とさず、でも無理をせず運動を続けたいです。
