Los industrialistas viajaron a tierras holguineros con la confianza en alto después de arrasar en el Balcón del Oriente cubano, derrotando a los actuales subcampeones del torneo en tres de los cuatro enfrentamientos de la subserie exhibiendo un arsenal ofensivo descomunal sobretodo en el último choque en el cual hicieron nada más que catorce carreras. Pues en la guarida de los Cachorros la tendencia se mantuvo y el conjunto azul repartió rugidos a trocha y mocha para barrer a sus homólogos holguineros en su propio estadio, algo que no hacían hace más de una década. En la joya arquitectónica del Calixto García los azules despegaron toda su artillería de largo alcance, en la subserie le conectaron 6 vuelacercas al pitcheo holguinero, para situarse en el segundo lugar del torneo con 17 batazos de vuelta completa para así completar la barrida con marcadores de 2-0, 6-2, KO de 16-2 y 5-4. Siendo sextos en bateo con 276 de average y primeros del torneo en pitcheo (4.59) y defensa (977) auguran un comienzo arrollador para no tener problemas en clasificar a las semifinales del torneo, pero también no solo es lo colectivo, en lo individual Industriales tiene a Yasser Julio González y a Yunier Batista como líderes en jonrones y juegos salvados, con siete y cinco respectivamente además de tener a cuatro peloteros entre los mejores bateadores y lanzadores del torneo.
