My Actifit Report Card: December 17 2023 - Post-Run Bliss / ランニング×ビール

I've been away from blogging for a bit and it's been two weeks. It's been a while since I've posted!
Yesterday my wife took our son back to her parents' house and I stayed at home, so I had some alone time for a while. I cleaned my room and took out the trash, and the afternoon flew by. The end of the year is near, so I'm going to do my best to clean up. It is quite difficult because there is a lot of dust and debris that accumulates in places that are hard to reach on a daily basis. It's hard to clean when the kids are around, so I decided to clean up the mess while I still can. It is nice to have a clean room to welcome the new year, isn't it?

After cleaning was finished, I took a break and went for a run. The temperature was almost 25 degrees Celsius, which is hard to believe in December. The wind was strong, so I didn't feel as hot as the temperature, but I still worked up a good sweat and felt refreshed. But after a while, my legs ached a little. I had been running 100 km a month for three years until about two years ago, and at that time I did not feel much fatigue even after running 10 km, but I guess you have to keep at it. My body seems to be slowing down.
For the rest of the day, I decided to go out for a beer to enjoy my time to the fullest. I used to go to the beer bar a little bit, but since my son was born, it is a rare opportunity to go there only on occasions like this one.
Let me briefly introduce the beers I drank.

(1)Smog City - Forest Understory
This brewery is based in Torrance, California, U.S.A. The founder started this brewery with the belief that "anyone who says they don't like beer just hasn't had the right one yet." The beer had a slightly peculiar bitterness, and as the name suggests, it was a refreshing beer that made us feel like we were in a forest.

(2) Ise Kakadoya Brewery - Hop Nyaon 4th Fleet
This brewery is located in Mie Prefecture, Japan and was originally a long-established rice cake shop. They also started making miso and soy sauce in the Taisho era, and the brewing techniques they developed there are used to make their beer. Hazy IPA, the fourth brew in the Hop Nyaon series, is also delicious. The fruity aroma and juicy flavor were great. It also has an apricot-like sweetness.

(3)Pizza port - Bacon and Eggs
Pizza Port is a brewery based in San Diego, California, U.S.A., that believes in "Tasty Grub ＆ Grog.” This beer is pitch black. It is a style called Imperial Coffee Porter. Porter means black beer, and imperial means strong, so it is a black beer with high alcohol content and coffee added. The beer and coffee are a perfect match and very tasty. The coffee flavor is strong and sweet. It is a dish that I would like to taste and drink at the end of the meal.

I drank a little too much, but a good beer after a run is a special treat!

少しブログ投稿から離れてあっという間に2週間も経ってしまいました。久しぶりの投稿です！
昨日は妻が息子を連れて実家に帰り、私は家でお留守番だったため久々に一人の時間を過ごしました。一人時間といっても部屋の掃除やゴミ出しをしていたらあっという間に午後になっていました。年末も近いし気合を入れたのもありますが、日頃なかなか手の届かないところにたっぷり埃や食べかすが溜まっていて結構大変です。子供がいる時はなかなか掃除ができないので、今のうちにしっかり片付けておくことにしました。新しい年を迎えるにはやっぱり綺麗な部屋がいいですよね。

掃除が終わり一息ついてからはランニングに出かけます。気温はなんと25℃近くで12月とは思えない陽気でした。風も強かったので気温ほどの暑さは感じませんでしたが、それでもしっかり汗をかいて気分もスッキリ！１時間ゆっくり走って10km、いい運動でした。でもしばらくすると足がちょっと痛い、2年ほど前までの３年間、月100kmのランニングを継続していた時期があって、その時は10km走ってもあまり疲労を感じることはなかったのですが、やはり継続してないとダメですね。体が鈍っているようです。
残りの時間は自分時間を満喫するためにビールを飲みに行くことにしました。昔はちょこちょこ通っていたビール屋さん、息子が生まれてからは今回みたいな時にしか行かない貴重な機会です。
私が飲んだビールを簡単に紹介しましょう。

①Smog City - Forest Understory
アメリカカリフォルニア州トーランスに拠点を構えるブリュワリーで、創業者は「ビールが嫌いだという人は、まだ正しいものを飲んでいないだけだ」という信念のもとこのブリュワリーを立ち上げたそうです。少しクセのある苦味があり、名前の通り森を感じられるような爽快感のあるビールでした。

②伊勢角屋麦酒 - ホップにゃおん第４艦隊
日本の三重県にあるブリュワリーで元々は老舗の餅屋さん。大正時代に味噌や醤油作りも始め、そこで培った醸造技術がビール作りに生かされているそうです。ホップにゃおんシリーズの第４弾、ヘイジーIPAはやはり美味しいです。フルーティな香りにジューシーな味わいが最高でした。杏っぽい甘みも感じます。

③Pizza port - Bacon and Eggs
アメリカカルフォルニア州サンディエゴに拠点を構えるブルワリーで「美味しい食べ物とビール」を信条とする。こちらのビール真っ黒ですね。インペリアルコーヒーポーターと言われるスタイルで、ポーターが黒ビール、インペリアルは強めのという意味で、アルコール分が高めのコーヒーが加えられた黒ビールとなります。ビールとコーヒーこれが絶妙にマッチしていてとても美味しいんです。しっかりとコーヒーの風味が効いていて、甘味も感じました。最後の締めに味わて飲みたい一品です。

調子に乗って全てパイントグラスで少し飲み過ぎましたが、ランニング後に美味しいビールは格別です！
