My Actifit Report Card: June 3 2024

School half term break is over, so it was back to work for me today. That meant I had a bus full of grumpy children who were not looking forward to going to school this morning. I had sympathy for the year 11's as they also had a Maths GCSE to look forward to.

Anyway, once my first shift was over, I went for my normal walk around the back lanes towards Saltford. I was a little disappointed to find the hedge cutters had been out and decimated most of the wild flowers along the lane. Obviously, it's a job that needs doing, but the hedges looked horribly hacked.

I did find a few interesting flowers to continue my macro photography on, so not all was lost.

The first two pictures I believe are of Hedgerow Crane's-bill (Geraniun pyrenaicum), and the second two i think are of Round-leaved Crane's-bill (Geranium rotundifolium).

I've used Google lens and much studying of my new Wildflower book (Collins wild flower guide) to come to this conclusion but I didn't take enough pictures of the various parts of the plant to be certain.
