A weekend dedicated to sport

Dear readers, on this occasion with great pride I will write the experience that we lived as a family this weekend, which as the title indicates was dedicated to sports because our son José Ernesto had his first basketball meeting outside our geographical area, which was a very fruitful experience depending on the experience he can acquire in this discipline not only at a tactical level but also to know how to manage their nerves when they are in foreign spaces and with a significant influx of people.

I am particularly excited to see that my son has a high affinity for basketball, which to some extent corroborates that sometimes children follow in the footsteps of their parents, because I have always liked basketball which I had the opportunity to play when I was a university student and now as a teacher; my son from a very young age attended my practices and games, thus creating an affinity for this discipline, because he started playing baseball, which is the king sport of Venezuela, but at one point he told us that he wanted to play basketball, which is the sport that really caught his attention and which I must certify that he plays very well at his young age.

Basketball is a sport where the collective game prevails in order to achieve success, all players have an important role, in individualities although sometimes fantastic plays are made effectiveness is lost, from my point of view it is preferable to have a team that, although they do not make spectacular plays, they are effective on offense and defense. In addition to this, it is important to keep in mind that basketball is a contact sport and where a lot of physical endurance is required, so logically physical preparation is one of the aspects that you need to work on if you want to be an efficient player in this wonderful sport.

Entering a little into context about what happened on the weekend, the Guerreros del Zedán basketball school to which my son belongs I plan together with the Sucre Municipality basketball school a small friendly championship, with the different categories, Minibasket, Children's and youth, for this activity, all the parents representatives were integrated to support our children and without a doubt it was an unparalleled experience to be able to see José Ernesto perform so well with his teammates in front of a team from the Sucre municipality that undoubtedly were more experienced but it served so that they could execute the practiced plays with their coach.

Although they did not get the victory if they acquired experience and cohesion among the members of the team, where each one contributed his own with assists, scores and the very important defense, these first steps of such young boys guarantees that in the coming years there will be in the municipality a generation of relief in basketball leaving aside the vices and dedicating time to the activities that are really important for youth and that they are the ones who continue to promote the sport in each region.
