What a collapse !!! INDIA vs AUS , 1st TEST , India among lowest scorers in history

Venue : Adelaide Oval , Australia
Ball used : Pink

D/N Match .

The Indian team in second innings went down like a house of cards , completely shocking to see a good team just get out in 3-4 overs in more or less similar fashion .

1st Innings

India scored 244 , thanks to Kohli and Rahane and others who pushed the score to 244 and in response to that although Aussies lost the top order batsmen in short span of time the skipper Tim Paine did very well to hold his nerve and give a fighting chance to the team ( or so it appeared ) .

At the end of the 1st innings , India had a solid 63 runs lead as Aussies were dismissed at 191 runs .

2nd Innings

A complete collapse of all batsmen made India post a miagre score of 36 runs ( 9 wickets as Shami was retired as a Ball hit him hard on the hand ) .

36 is among the lowest scores scored in Test History . The highest score is of Mayank Agarwal posting 9 runs so no batsmen even touched the 2 digit mark .

Kohli's withdrawal

Virat Kohli , the captain of the Indian team won't be playing in the rest of the series as he has taken Paternity leave . Rahane will be the new captain and I think it is going to be a tough job to do .
Another fact about Kohli is that he didn't score a single century in this year which is partly because of less matches played this year .

Take a bow to Cummins and Hazlewood

What a bowling , absolutely amazing . It was a treat to watch them bowl the right line and length .

Figures -

  • Hazlewood = 5 overs bowled took 5 wickets for just 8 runs .
  • Cummins = 10.2 overs bowled took 4 wickets for just 21 runs .

Hazlewood just had a dream innings .

That's it for today , will meet you next match .

Regards ,
MR .
