A Watercolor Flower and one that smells like Garlic

Hello there!

It has been a really long Winter but finally I'm feeling that Spring is arriving 😊
It's probably gonna be quite hot pretty soon, but right now I'm still enjoying the mild transition days.

So it felt like a good time to share a Watercolor Flower!

I'm very excited for the months to come. We will be cat- and house-sitting here in the forest for another five weeks or so and then we'll be back on the road.
I'm grateful for the time we got here, but I'm looking forward now to the next chapter, wherever it will lead us.

I've been learning a lot of plants here, going deeper into my new passion for edible weeds.
There is the most beautiful abundance of greens around the house and I've been learning a new one almost every week, as they are coming up with the warmer weather and sunshine.

My latest find is the one in the photo below. It's called "Knoblauchsrauke" in German, and I found "Garlic Mustard" as an English name.
The leaves smell like garlic, but I couldn't find it tasting a lot like it. It has a nice mild taste to it, not very bitter like other greens.
Of course it has medicinal qualities as well, they all do, but I'm not an expert on that. For now I'm just happy to know if I can eat it ^^

Also it's very pretty! 😊

all pictures taken by myself

Have a good day!

It's a good idea to know your edible weeds. What with the chem trails and the sun dimming you may end up needing them to survive:)

It definitely gives me a feeling of security and independence, it's what I can do until we have our own garden to grow vegetables and trees.
I also feel so much better eating the wild greens instead of supermarket spinach πŸ˜„

I like your flower painting. So colorful!

From time to time I have thought I'd like to learn more about plants, but then I never really pursued it. The only ones that I know are edible are quite by accident along the way. It must be fun to be learning about that.

I don't really pursue it either, when I see a plant that looks kind of edible I just take out my phone and see if it really is and then I try it ^^
I get the feeling that most things growing around us are actually food πŸ˜„ and I don't even have to do any gardening!
