Feliz día para todos (y noche para algunos). Estoy muy emocionada de informarles la participación de mi equipo femenino de Ultimate Frisbee en los mundiales: - Masters Mundial de Clubes, el cual se realizará en Limerick, Irlanda, desde el 25 de junio hasta el 2 julio del 2022. - Mundial de Clubes que se realizará en Cincinnati, USA, desde el 23 de julio hasta el 30 de julio 2022.

LA HISTORIA DE SPANGLISH

Contar nuestra historia como equipo, es hablar de la historia femenina del Ultimate Frisbee en Venezuela. El Ultimate venezolano nace en Maracay y es también donde se inicia este movimiento femenino, incluso las mujeres que venían de espectadoras desde Caracas o Valencia se incluyeron en estos grupos de equipos de mujeres.

El nombre de Spanglish es perfecto para definir la identidad de nuestro equipo, pues la crisis en nuestro país empujó a muchas de las atletas a emigrar a algunas partes del mundo en busca de mejores oportunidades, dándonos la oportunidad de mezclar nuestra cultura con otras. Nuestro equipo está compuesto de atletas que viven en Italia, España, Chile, Estados Unidos, Canadá, México, Colombia, Irlanda, y por supuesto en Venezuela.

THE HISTORY OF SPANGLISH
To tell our history as a team is to talk about the female history of Ultimate Frisbee in Venezuela. Venezuelan Ultimate was born in Maracay and it is also where this women's movement began, even women who came as spectators from Caracas or Valencia were included in these groups of women's teams.
The name Spanglish is perfect to define the identity of our team, because the crisis in our country pushed many of the athletes to emigrate to some parts of the world in search of better opportunities, giving us the opportunity to mix our culture with others. Our team is composed of athletes living in Italy, Spain, Chile, United States, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Ireland, and of course Venezuela.

Todas las chicas de nuestro equipo son un gran ejemplo de tenacidad, y de valentía, chicas que han dejando a un lado a sus familias, a sus profesiones, a sus comodidades para salir de Venezuela a trabajar, algunas con hijos, algunas con sueños y corazones rotos, pero muchas de ellas se han convertido en líderes en sus comunidades.

Me siento muy orgullosa de todas ellas, también de todas las que siguen de pie en el país cumpliendo y apostando por el deporte. Gracias especiales a todas las chicas que forman parte de nuestro equipo desde el corazón, esas que están unidas a nuestro país desde cualquier parte del mundo, a través de sus familias, esposos, esposas, amigos, o cualquier otro lazo. Gracias a la comunidad del Ultimate por entender que en Venezuela no elegimos vivir un éxodo masivo, gracias por abrirnos las puertas, los escenarios y los corazones en todo el mundo.

All the girls on our team are a great example of tenacity and courage, girls who have left their families, their professions, their comforts to leave Venezuela to work, some with children, some with broken hearts and dreams, but many of them have become leaders in their communities.
I feel very proud of all of them, also of all those who are still standing up in the country fulfilling and betting on the sport. Special thanks to all the girls who are part of our team from the heart, those who are linked to our country from anywhere in the world, through their families, husbands, wives, friends, or any other bond. Thanks to the Ultimate community for understanding that in Venezuela we did not choose to live a mass exodus, thanks for opening doors, stages and hearts around the world.

CÓMO LO LOGRAREMOS

Somos 44 dividas, un grupo de 22 atletas participará en Cincinnati y otro el otro grupo de 22 en Limerick. Nuestra preparación física la realizamos a través de la plataforma TrueCoach, con un plan de entrenamiento donde priorizamos la conciencia corporal: trabajamos respiración, meditación, visualización, fortalecimiento, funcionales, tonificación, cardio, lanzamiento de frisbees y otros que están en línea con nuestra meta..

Contamos con un equipo de atletas comprometidas, que además han desarrollado actividades profondos para conseguir financiar su participación en estos eventos.

HOW WILL WE MAKE IT?
We are 44 divided, a group of 22 athletes will participate in Cincinnati and another group of 22 in Limerick. Our physical preparation is done through the TrueCoach platform, with a training plan where we prioritize body awareness: we work on breathing, meditation, visualization, strengthening, functional, toning, cardio, frisbee throwing and others that are in line with our goal.
We have a team of committed athletes, who have also developed deep activities to finance their participation in these events.

COSTOS DE PARTICIPACIÓN

En Venezuela las condiciones de vida son bastante complejas, muchas de nuestra atletas no tienen la oportunidad de plantearse pagar una participación en una competencia internacional, los salarios en Venezuela son aproximadamente 28$ al mes, y una participación en un campeonato puede pasar los 3000$ por atleta, es por esto que se crea este equipo llamado Spanglish, con la idea de crear una posibilidad para las atletas más destacadas. Las atletas que están fuera de Venezuela, aunque manejen realidades económicas diferentes, para algunas puede ser complejo tener que lidiar con la inmigración y conseguir estabilidad.

Para participar en estos eventos debemos pagar la inscripción por equipo, también una inscripción individual, hospedaje, alimentos, transporte local, aviones, visas, uniformes, y cualquier otro que esté olvidando.

Es por ello que hemos decidido realizar actividades como venta de boletas (rifas), venta de indumentaria deportiva, programas de entrenamientos, competencias flash de agilidad o rendimiento.

PARTICIPATION COSTS
In Venezuela the living conditions are quite complex, many of our athletes do not have the opportunity to pay for a participation in an international competition, the salaries in Venezuela are approximately $ 28 per month, and a participation in a championship can exceed $ 3000 per athlete, that is why this team called Spanglish is created, with the idea of creating a possibility for the most outstanding athletes. The athletes who are outside of Venezuela, although they manage different economic realities, for some it can be complex to deal with immigration and achieve stability.
To participate in these events we must pay for team registration, as well as individual registration, lodging, food, local transportation, planes, visas, uniforms, and anything else we are forgetting.
That is why we have decided to carry out activities such as ticket sales (raffles), sale of sports apparel, training programs, flash competitions of agility or performance.
