Crash Crisis: August 14 2023
Not much walking today but I stepped on the treadmill for a bit after work as I needed to vent off a near nervous breakdown. 🤣
My work laptop gave me a scare when I was asked for a drive recovery key after an update! Did I panic? Sure! I've got pictures and videos on it, and they are, of course, not backed up.. 🙄
When you're working from home you're often left on your own, that's just how it is, so I dug about for a bit.. and phew, found a key in my MS account. YAY.
I was able to sleep through! .. and attend our Tuesday meeting this morning.
I was going to post a few gifs and I spent aaages to get anything up here. It appears there is a limit with regard to size (25MB) but also the numbers in a post.
Even if you try to fit in that framework nothing seems to work, so I am only giving you a very short one of Mia going mad after her bath.. 😂
Afterwards she was allowed to snuggle in my unmade bed for a while on this occasion. 😂
Well, to be fair, it's normal.. haha

I wondered what crash you were on about. You need to sort out your backups. I use Google Drive and just had to upgrade my plan, but it's cheap.

I pay £25 per year for 200GB. There are apps to synchronise local files.
That's not too bad for some peace of mind.. I'll check it out
@steevc is that part of Google One? I’ve been thinking the same recently for both my work and personal laptops. Always a nervous moment when that kind of thing happens but thank goodness for the backed up key!

Yes it is. I'm paying £25 per year for 200GB. I have an app that synchronises local files, so I have them backed up. I lost some files to a drive issue years ago and don't want that again.
These days you needn’t back up an entire drive each time, just your main files. I store my photos in the cloud anyway and save them to external drives. That said I’m going to check what I have with Google as I paid them recently for Google one, I bet there’s some services I didn’t know I had.
I just back up all my data including scanned documents. The biggest files will be video and may need separate handling.
