Swans: September 17 2023

A quiet day yesterday with just some TV so not a lot to report.
We went through town and back via the River Side Park which takes us across the town brigde; the swans were busy this morning.
Some water activities went on here; rowing and fishing; I was expecting to find my neighbour somewhere as he was supposed to be out with his kit after walking his dog Watson, but didn't spot him anywhere.
Instead I spotted this swan taking off on the other side and just managed to take a few shots.. S/he took off only to splash back into the water just underneath the bridge.

Oh man, yes the detail you can get with an SLR (or whatever those super good cameras are called 🤣) would have made for a truly epic photo! …but I think it’s a gorgeous shot, just as it is :)

I grew up seeing plenty of swans in Bedford. I was always out fishing. Not that I caught much really.

You have to be pretty patient..
Not my thing just hanging around that way not doing much really.. lol
I like Bedford, it's got sound pretty corners.
I was a solitary kid and it suited me back then. We lived close by so I could just wander over.
Wow! A lot of swans in one place. That's quite unusual. We only have maybe two or three pairs on one around here.
