A Famous Tree: September 30 2023
(Edited)
Yesterday morning I came across this tree that had lifted up the pavement a fair bit and the electric box by the side of it.
It's quite a large tree as you can see by the car passing it.
I do hope they won't find it necessary to fell it for security reasons or because wheelchairs can't get through. Too many trees are taken down and one famous one has lately been vandalised: the tree up at Hadrian's Wall that featured in the film "Robin Hood" with Kevin Costner.
I took this picture in 2006 when we were up there.. now this 200 year old treasure is no more 😢
For much of the day was I practicing as my list of songs is getting longer and Friday's gig is only around the corner.
That's it for today; Thanks for looking!

Some trees get too big for where they are. If it's a risk to people or even the cables around it then it may have to come down. That's okay as long as they plant more. The one at Hadrian's Wall was just vandalism. I get that people are angry about it, but we need to shout about all those that get taken out for other reasons, such as planning railways that never get built!
Yes, you're absolutely right!
I think my tree there is safe for now; think it's been like that for a long time and there don't seem to be any cables as you mention.
But you never know with some jobsworth people what might happen next.

I love those trees that get massive and ruck up the pavement. We have loads here in some streets and luckily the council doesn't seem to bother with them.
Excellent!! I like to hear that!
It makes any town walk that little bit more exciting! 😄
