For today's work we will be making a beautiful dress this time for me with a fabric that I had bought a while ago but precisely due to lack of time and chance to sit down and sew I had not been able to dedicate enough time to this job so as today is a special day for it I wanted to get down to work and make it for myself, when I saw this floral fabric, its print and how delicate it was in the fabric store I couldn't help but fall in love with it, it was love at first sight 😍🌺🌼 these floral prints with nude colors or vintage colors are my favorites so I didn't hold back on buying this fabric because I already saw it as a color that looks great on me and I wanted to use it to make a dress, the model I chose is a peasant type with elastic easy to make, here I bring you the tutorial if you want to learn how to make this beautiful garment.

Step 01

As a first step we are going to cut the main pieces of the dress such as the front and back waist pieces. I used a blouse as a measure to be able to cut these pieces, one that would fit me well. I cut the sleeves and the part of the dress from the waist to the knees and the excess from the knee to the ankles. There you can take the measurements of the desired length and be able to cut the dress to the length of your preference or that of your client.

We start by sewing the skirt pieces, sealing them along the sides, then joining the part that goes from the knee to the ankles. If this piece is wider, we can make some small pleats of approximately 1 cm so that this part is slightly raised. We sew around the entire outline, then reinforce with a straight stitch.

As this muslin fabric tends to fade very quickly, we will sew the hem at once and make a 2 cm hem, then we will join the sleeves of the blouse to the sides, front and back of the armhole, then we will sew the skirt to the blouse, making small folds or pleats at the waist, we will take a 60 cm wide elastic for a size M and we will sew it between the union of the skirt and blouse, stretching the elastic completely.

In the part where the shoulders fall, we are going to sew the edge with an overlock or zigzag stitch and we are going to place an elastic band. We have also placed it on the waist of the dress and we make a hem inwards, sewing a 2 cm hem. Once we finish sewing, we cut the excess thread.
