Comenzó la Liga de Fútbol de Playa (LFP) y con ella el andar del Miramar United en dicha competición. Luego de dos años de espera a causa de la pandemia, un total de 14 equipos lucharán por sus objetivos a lo largo de 13 jornadas de campeonato. Al Miramar le tocó bailar con la más fea en la jornada inaugural, al enfrentarse al campeón del torneo de pretemporada y uno de los claros favoritos para alzarse con título, el equipo de Santa Fe. No hubo sorpresa y el duelo se lo llevó Santa Fe en un verdadero partidazo.
The Playa Football League (LFP) has begun, and with it the Miramar United's participation in the competition. After two years of waiting due to the pandemic, a total of 14 teams will fight for their objectives throughout 13 championship rounds. Miramar had to dance with the ugliest on the opening day, facing the champion of the preseason tournament and one of the clear favorites to win the title, the team from Santa Fe. There was no surprise and the duel was won by Santa Fe in a truly great game.
El encuentro comenzó a las 12 del mediodía hora local bajo una ligera llovizna que afectó en cierto punto al terreno de juego. Los primeros compases del partido dejaron claro como sería el desafío y los planteamientos de ambos entrenadores. Santa Fe se paró con un 4-3-3, con la intención, y así lo hicieron durante todo el partido, de mantener la posesión del balón y salir jugando desde atrás. Por su parte el United salió a la cancha con un 4-4-2 bien conservador, juntando sus líneas y esperando un fallo del rival. Santa Fe no podía penetrar la lineá defensiva y el partido comenzó a trabarse, volviéndose áspero, donde el colegiado sacó varias tarjetas amarillas para ambos conjuntos. El mayor peligro para el arco de los rojos vino de los balones parados lanzados por Santa Fe cerca del área, debido a las continuas llegadas tardes de sus defensores al marcaje rival. El gol de Santa Fe llegó cerca del minuto 25, cuando un pase largo sobrepasó por alto a los centrales y cayó en los pies del delantero que batió al portero con un potente remate. No pasaron 5 minutos y en un fallo de la zaga rival el United encontró el empate, luego de que una cesión de la defensa al portero quedara corta y Héctor aprovechara para burlar al cancerbero. Con este resultado se marchaban ambos conjuntos al medio tiempo.
The match kicked off at 12 noon local time under a light drizzle that affected the pitch to some extent. The early stages of the match made it clear what the challenge and approach of both coaches would be. Santa Fe went with a 4-3-3 formation, with the intention, as they did throughout the match, of keeping possession of the ball and playing out from the back. For their part, United took the field with a very conservative 4-4-2 formation, pulling their lines together and waiting for a mistake by their opponents. Santa Fe could not penetrate the defensive line and the game began to get tight, becoming rough, with the referee issuing several yellow cards to both teams. The greatest danger to the Reds' goal came from the set pieces launched by Santa Fe near the area, due to the continuous late arrivals of their defenders to the rival marking. Santa Fe's goal came in the 25th minute when a long pass went over the center backs and fell at the feet of the striker who beat the goalkeeper with a powerful shot. Not five minutes later, United found the equalizer after a mistake by the rival backline, when a pass from the defense to the goalkeeper fell short and Héctor took advantage of it to beat the goalkeeper. With this result, both teams went to halftime.
Para la segunda mitad Miramar United no realizó cambios en su alineación, contrariamente, Santa Fe pasó a jugar con un 3-5-2 con la intención de poner más gente en el medio campo y explotar el juego por banda. Los primeros 10 minutos tuvieron la misma tónica de la primera parte, Santa Fe intentándolo y Miramar United defendiendo con uñas y dientes su resultado. Todo cambió sobre el minuto 55 cuando, posiblemente el mejor jugador de la cancha y del conjunto de Santa Fe, perdió los papeles y soltó una dura patada a un contrario por detrás por lo que el árbitro no dudo y le mostro la tarjeta roja. En ese momento, el United olió la sangre y vio una oportunidad de oro para llevarse el partido, teniendo en cuenta su superioridad numérica. El encuentro se volvió en un ir y venir para ambos equipos, con oportunidades claras y no tan claras para ambos elencos de cara al arco. A falta de un minuto para el final una serie de malos despejes y un mal hacer por parte de la defensa roja, dio chance a sus rivales para que marcaran un verdadero golazo, cuando el balón entró por la escuadra luego de un disparo desde dentro del área. A penas dio tiempo para sacar el balón desde el centro del campo y el árbitro pitó el final del partido. Lo más justo para ambos equipos hubiera sido el empate, pero así es el fútbol y Santa Fe fue un merecido ganador.
For the second half Miramar United made no changes to their lineup, on the contrary, Santa Fe switched to a 3-5-2 formation with the intention of putting more people in the midfield and exploiting wing play. The first 10 minutes had the same tone of the first half, Santa Fe trying and Miramar United defending tooth and nail their result. Everything changed in the 55th minute when, possibly the best player on the field and of the Santa Fe team, lost his temper and kicked an opponent from behind so the referee did not hesitate and showed him the red card. At that moment, United smelled blood and saw a golden opportunity to win the match, taking into account their numerical superiority. The match became a back and forth affair for both teams, with clear and not so clear chances for both sides in front of goal. With a minute to go, a series of bad clearances and a poor performance by the red defense gave their rivals a chance to score a real goal, when the ball went into the corner of the net after a shot from inside the area. There was barely time to get the ball out from the center of the field and the referee blew the final whistle. The fairest thing for both teams would have been a draw, but that's soccer and Santa Fe was a deserved winner.
