El sábado 30 de abril se disputó la segunda jornada de la LFP (Liga de Fútbol del Municipio Playa, en la Habana, Cuba). En ella se vio envuelto el equipo de Miramar United enfrentando al Timba Plaza. Ambos conjuntos venían de perder en sus compromisos anteriores por lo que necesitaban al menos sacar un punto para no alejarse de los puestos de arriba en la tabla de clasificación. Miramar United había caído en extremis ante Santa Fe con marcador de dos goles por uno, mientras que el Timba Plaza cayó ante el Finlay con abultada pizarra de tres goles por cero.
On Saturday, April 30, the second day of the LFP (Liga de Fútbol del Municipio Playa, in Havana, Cuba) was played. The Miramar United team faced Timba Plaza. Both teams had lost in their previous matches, so they needed at least a point in order not to move away from the top positions in the standings. Miramar United had lost in extremis against Santa Fe with a score of two goals to one, while Timba Plaza lost to Finlay with a score of three goals to zero.
El partido se disputó a las 4 de la tarde hora local, bajo un intenso sol, en el estadio Eduardo Saborit en el municipio Playa, al oeste de la capital cubana. Ambos equipos salieron con un posicionamiento táctico similar, un 4-3-3, indicando a las claras que los hilos del juego se moverían desde el centro del campo. El Timba Plaza fue quien controló los primeros compases del juego, con un Miramar United que no entró con ritmo de partido. Pasaban los minutos y los del United se iban acomodando en la cancha mientras que Plaza no conseguía crear peligro de cara al arco rival, aunque sí dominaba el juego gracias a los constantes errores de su rival. Pasado los primeros 20 minutos de la primera parte Miramar fue entrando en dinámica y un disparo desde dentro del área por parte de su extremo izquierdo Karell Gonzalez, propició un rebote del portero que cayó en los pies del central del United, Eduardo, quien no pudo superar al portero que volvió a detener el disparo, esta vez a quema ropa. Los últimos minutos del primer tiempo fue un ataque constante de parte del United, quien tuvo dos claras ocasiones con un disparo fuera del área que pasó rozando el poste y otro remate por parte de Eduardo a la salida de un córner que fue desviado por la defensa rival. Ambos equipos se marcharon al descanso sin anotar goles.
The match was played at 4 p.m. local time, under an intense sun, at the Eduardo Saborit stadium in the Playa municipality in the west of the Cuban capital. Both teams started with a similar tactical positioning, a 4-3-3, clearly indicating that the strings of the game would be pulled from the center of the field. Timba Plaza controlled the early stages of the game, with a Miramar United that did not get into the rhythm of the match. The minutes passed and United were getting comfortable on the field while Plaza could not create danger in front of the opponent's goal, although they dominated the game thanks to the constant mistakes of their rival. After the first 20 minutes of the first half, Miramar started to gain momentum and a shot from inside the area by their left winger Karell Gonzalez, caused a rebound from the goalkeeper that fell at the feet of United's center back Eduardo who could not beat the goalkeeper who again stopped the shot, this time at close range. The last minutes of the first half were a constant attack by United who had two clear chances with a shot outside the box that went just past the post and another shot by Eduardo from a corner that was deflected by the opposing defense. Both teams went into the break goalless.
El segundo tiempo comenzó de igual manera que la primera parte del duelo. Timba Plaza controlando el juego y Miramar United desconectado totalmente del encuentro. Por parte del Timba, Daniel Domínguez (antiguo jugador del Miramar United) fue lo mejor, tanto en la primera parte como en la segunda, volviendo loco a sus adversarios. Como mismo sucedió en los 45 minutos iniciales, a medida que avanzó el tiempo complementario el United fue metiendo en su área a su rival, demostrando una mejor condición física. Varios intentos de sus delanteros fueron detenidos por su portero o se marchaban demasiado desviados del arco. Los últimos 10 minutos fueron de un asedio total por parte del Miramar que tuvo dos oportunidades clarísimas. Primero un rebote cazado dentro del área por Jean Paul, su centro delantero, fue despejado por un defensa cuando el goleador se quedaba mano a mano con el guardameta. La otra clara ocurrió cuando Abdul, en una jugada individual, terminó con un potente disparo que pegó en la cruceta y se marchó fuera, esta fue la última jugada del encuentro luego que el árbitro pitara el final del mismo. Con este resultado de cero a cero ambos equipos sumaron un punto y se encuentran empatados en la novena posición de la liga con un punto para cada uno.
TThe second half started in the same way as the first part of the match. Timba Plaza controlling the game and Miramar United totally disconnected from the match. For Timba, Daniel Domínguez (former Miramar United player) was the best in both the first half and the second half, driving his opponents crazy. As was the case in the first 45 minutes, as the second half progressed, United pushed their opponents into their own area, showing a better physical condition. Several attempts from their strikers were saved by their goalkeeper or went wide of the goal. The last 10 minutes were a total siege by Miramar, who had two very clear chances. First, a rebound taken inside the box by Jean Paul, their center forward, was cleared by a defender when the striker was one-on-one with the goalkeeper. The other clear occurred when Abdul, in an individual play, finished with a powerful shot that hit the crossbar and went wide, this was the last play of the match after the referee blew the final whistle. With this result of nil-nil, both teams scored one point and are tied in the ninth position of the league with one point each.
