Quedaron encuadrados en la llave G con el Bayern Leverkusen, un histórico como el Celtic de Glasgow y el Ferencvaros húngaro, finalizando en la segunda posición con 10 unidades, 12 goles a favor y 12 en contra. También reforzaron su defensa con el defensor argentino proveniente de la Fiorentina Germán Pezzella por 3.5 millones de euros.
El once tipo del Real Betis en esta temporada es un 4-2-3-1 con Rui Silva en portería, con Edgar Gonzales, Víctor Ruiz.
