Arsenal vs Wolves Reaction

Yesterday, we took one step closer to the top 4 by beating Wolves with two late goals. One of which came in probably the last minute of the match but we were more than worthy of the three points.

Yesterday, the boys played like a team possessed by ambition and that mentality is so good to see. You could see how much everybody wanted those three points.

We started the game poorly and paid for that after an error by Gabriel offered Wolves the lead on a platter. It was an 11th-minute howler that looked like it was going to derail our plans.

However, after conceding that goal, we rolled up our sleeves and continued pressing the away team. We huffed and puffed for large spells, with waves of attacks but couldn't find a way through in the first half.

The second half started at a frantic pace and once again, we were on the front foot but no luck. However, we consistently looked threatening and call me optimistic because I was dead certain we were going to win that match.

The manager made a couple of substitutions along the way that completely changed the dynamic of the game. The introduction of Nicholas Pepe and Eddie was exactly what the team needed.

Both players came on to the scene, worked hard and brilliantly to give us a way back into the game.

The equaliser was an expertly taking reverse shot taken by Nicholas Pepe, after a neat exchange with Eddie Nketiah. That goal sparked the emirates to life and you could tell that the momentum was with us when Pepe picked it out of the net and started running to the centre to get the match going.

Listen, this team was settling for a draw, they wanted the three points. We wanted to celebrate in front of the fans and on the balance of play, it was what we deserved from the game.

Fast forward to the 95th minute of 6 minutes added time and we got our lead through a Lacazette rifled cross cum shot that luckily ricocheted of Jose Sa's loves and into the net. The goal was counted as an own goal but I tell you what, nobody cares what you want to call it.

I watched it as it happened and I tell you, it was pure ecstasy. The entire team was buzzing and we got what we deserved after one of our most dominant showings this season.

We just did the seemingly impossible against the third stingiest defence in the league. In fact, prior to this match, You have to go all the way back to November 6th of last year to find the last time they conceded more than one goal in a match. On top of that, they had also not dropped point from a winning position for virtually the whole season.

We ground our way back into the match and never let our shoulders drop, throughout the game. This level of synergy, hard work and elite mentality is what we need for the rest of the season.

After this victory, we climbed up to 5th position, one point behind United, with two games in hand on our top 4 rival. The two games are against Chelsea and Liverpool, so nothing is won yet.

In a post-match press meetup, Arteta said the next game is the most important and that we now have to go and get a result at Watford. I agree, nothing but the next game matters. We just need to keep our heads down and keep on grinding out results.

The high energy level, the pressing, neat passing and the way everybody plays for the team is really impressive. We're going to be in the top 4 this season because we deserve to be there. However, whatever happens, I know for sure that the future is bright.

Until we meet again, up the Arsenal.

I hope it is certain ! I hope the regular jinx of key players getting injured when we need them most doesn’t raise its ugly head .
