R.I.P Chelsea FC

Well, that was an unexpected but perfectly timed turn of events for Chelsea. Initially, we heard that Abramovic was going to sell the club but right now, there's no chance of that happening.

Without going into details, we know that assets of the Russian Oligarch in the UK got frozen. This includes his stake in the Chelsea football club.

Freezing his assets basically means that he can see it but can't touch it. Again, without going into the pleasantly gory details, we know for certain that Chelsea FC is in fact, colossally fucked.

The special situation means that it is actually possible for the club to go into administration. I highly doubt the possibility of that happening but I know for certain that this will really hurt the club.

I bet Chelsea fans all over the world are feeling the blues right now. Next time, you'll think twice about supporting a team that is funded by friends with a warmongering dicktator.

Anyway, I'm not here to talk about my feelings about the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, even though, it is sort of connected. Oh no, I'm here to talk about the potential weakening of a rival club.

Let me be honest, I have hated Chelsea FC ever since Mourinho pranced around the club talking shit about Wenger. Watching him suffer in Roma and be brought back to earth is such a sweet sight.

This issue with Chelsea might turn out to be an early birthday gift for me. I certainly hope the club doesn't fade into oblivion like it happened with Leeds united but I hope they suffer for all the years of financial doping.

For whatever little it is worth, I don't consider Chelsea fans to be the worst. That space is left for @deniskj and other Manchester United fans but I do consider them to be the second-worse.

Their constant bragging about their fluke Champions League titles and reminding me about their titles is such a pain. If this event can, at least, bring some humility to that fan base, and also give a lot of them the opportunity to reflect and hopefully even admit that they're only here because of financial doping, it will be a success.

Speaking of the fans, the sanctions also states that only season ticket holders are allowed to buy tickets for games. So it is very likely that we'll either see empty stadiums or the club will do some loyalty crap to allow non-season ticket holder fans into the stadium for free.

The travel expenses spending limit is also brutal. 20K quids is probably what they spend on Lakaka's lunch on travel days, now that's the total limit. How will they circumvent this?

As if things weren't fucked up as it is, sponsors are also walking away. Last I hear, 3 has temporarily suspended their shirt sponsorship deal. I also heard that Hyundai will most likely be pulling out as well, thereby ending a deal worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

Chelsea fans are anxiously watching the outcome of this conflict. I bet they're praying that they don't find more dirt on Abramovich because that could spell even more sanctions.

I take no pleasure in seeing a man get stripped of his hard-earned money but I take pleasure in seeing Chelsea fans get a taste of humble pie. Yes, it is possible for both things to coexist.

How bad do you think it will get for Chelsea? Will they go into administration and have 9 points deducted? If they can't sign or renew player contracts, what happens to Rudiger and others with only months left?

As a Chelsea fan, this sucks!

However, Abramovich and his money has helped transform the club so we'll need to be prepared for the cost that comes with it

As an Arsenal fan, I'm enjoying it. Word is that the UK government has approved the sale of the club, so there's some hope for Chelsea, if it gets expedited.

it is really interesting to see the outcome from the Abramovic leaves. Will it go down, or can Abramovic really find his replacement investor while his asset got frozen.

I think they will but $3 billion is a lot of money, so I reckon it will take time

lol...you can imagine how it must feel when Arsenal fans overinflate wins against minnows as great achievements. Don't worry, your games in hand are against the big boys.

Being against the big boys doesn't count for nothing. It's what happens on the pitch that matters.😁

As long as we have Drawchester United and Bottleham Hotsprouts chasing us, I'm certain that we'll be fine.

Funny thing is that United have pretty much the same kind of tough fixtures as us.

Our three outstanding games are against Spurs, Chelsea and Liverpool, but even if we lose them all(which we won't), we'll be good against most other teams that United and Spuds will certainly drop points against.

If there's one team I loathe so much, it's Chelsea. Nonetheless, I never thought I could feel this bad about their predicament and it's sad that Abrahimovic's love for the club is being used against him.

With the quick turn of events, I'm almost forced to think that this is a vendetta against Abra and the grasses that suffer are the Chelsea players and workers. It's sad really.

I really do hope they get out of it quickly. I want Arsenal to be bigger than them, but definitely not in this manner.

It's a big call for those brands and, but glad to see Trivago standing by them.

I feel you on this one. I think they'll be fine in the long run but this will definitely destabilize them a bit

Definitely, it'd. However, I trust this Chelsea team's mental strength to navigate these times.
