[PL / ENG] Legendia - Wesołe Miasteczko / Legendia Amusement park My Actifit Report Card: September 3 2022

Zostaliśmy dzisiaj zaproszeni na doroczną imprezę mającą miejsce w Parku Rozrywki Legendia. Oboje nie przepadamy za wesołymi miasteczkami i nie jesteśmy miłośnikami żadnego typu karuzeli, ale ze względów towarzyskich poszliśmy. Wesołe Miasteczko znajdujące się na pograniczu Katowic i Chorzowa działa tu od wielu lat - pamiętam, jak w dzieciństwie zabierali mnie tu rodzice.

Today we were invited to the annual event taking place at the Legendia Theme Park. We are both not fond of fairgrounds and are not lovers of any type of carousel, but for social reasons we went. The amusement park located on the border of Katowice and Chorzów has been here for many years - I remember when my parents used to take me here as a child.

Jako mała dziewczynka też nie miałam odwagi ani chęci korzystać z tych "strasznych karuzeli", ale lubiłam pływać łódeczkami po wodzie. Dziwnym trafem, tej łódeczkowej instalacji dziś nie udało mi się odnaleźć, natomiast co do reszty - odnoszę wrażenie, że poza "Lechem" i zmianą szaty graficznej, bardzo niewiele się tu w ciągu tych trzydziestu lat zmieniło.

As a little girl, I didn't have the courage or the desire to use these "terrible carousels", but I liked to sail boats on the water. By some strange coincidence, I have not been able to find this boat installation today, but as for the rest - I have the impression that, apart from "Lech" and the change of the layout, very little has changed in these thirty years.

Klimat jest przaśny i lunaparkowy, jak zawsze. Ludzi pełno. Na plus dla Legendii wychodzi fakt, iż próbuje zachować jakiś spójny charakter pomiędzy atrakcjami, co sprawia, że jest tu troszkę mniej festynowo niż dawniej (ale tylko troszkę).

The atmosphere is unleavened and funfair as always. Lots of people. The advantage for Legendia is that it tries to keep some coherent character between attractions, which makes it a bit less festive than before (but only a bit).

And below Lech Coaster - according to Wikipedia, the fourth fastest and fourth highest roller coaster in Poland, opened in 2017.

My tam na Lecha raczej nie za bardzo, ale za namową znajomych poszliśmy postrzelać do potworów w Jamie Bazyliszka. No nie wiem, dzieci pewnie dobrze się bawią.

We did not go to Lech obviously, but at the urging of our friends, we went to shoot the monsters in Basilisk Den. Well, the kids must be having a good time here.

Poszliśmy też na diabelski młyn. To jest atrakcja, jaką doceniam w każdym miejscu, bo lubię popatrzeć na widoczki z góry.

We also went to the Ferris wheel. This is an attraction that I appreciate in every place, because I like to look at the views from above.

Trochę trzeba postać w kolejce, jak zawsze. Tutejszy diabelski młyn ma chyba z milion lat, ale jest pokryty nową farbą. Oprócz tego nic się nie zmieniło. Obsługa wpuszcza pasażerów do pięciu wagoników na dole, potem koło robi pół obrotu i kolejne pięć wagoników jest otwierane, aby ludzie wsiedli i wysiedli. Pozostałe wagoniki niestety jeżdżą puste.

You have to queue for a while, as always. The Ferris wheel here is probably a million years old, but it's covered in new paint. Apart from that, nothing has changed. The crew lets passengers into the five cars downstairs, then the wheel makes a half-turn and the next five cars open for people to get in and out. Unfortunately, the remaining wagons run empty.

Z góry można podziwiać widok na całe Wesołe Miasteczko, piękną rozłożystą zieleń Parku Chorzowskiego, osiedle Tauzen oraz panoramę miasta Katowice.

From the top you can admire the view of the entire Amusement Park, the beautiful wide greenery of the Chorzowski Park, the Tauzen estate and the panorama of the city of Katowice.

Już z powrotem na ziemi. Obeszliśmy park dokoła i zrobiliśmy zdjęcie Młynowi z drugiej strony stawu.

Back on earth now. We walked around the park and took a picture of the Wheel on the other side of the pond.

No i bonus - wracając do auta taki kadr wieży kościoła na tle budynku zwanego pieszczotliwie Tiramisu.

And a bonus - returning to the car, such a frame of the church tower against the background of a building affectionately called Tiramisu.
