TIger's Big Mistakes Leading To Match Loss | Ban Vs Eng Play Analysis // Match #7..

In life or sports, things always never happen as we want. Maybe its such a universal truth that we just cant move away without facing, there are winning and losing on both sides of play, just like a coin has two opposite parts.

But, looking at the 2nd match that Bangladesh played in the cricket world cup schedule against England, I never felt that they gave their best to expect to win.

While there are two sides of reality, it is normal to lose in any sporting event including cricket. But if I am to talk about the match prospects they played with, it is pretty clear a fact that they didnt give their 100% to win.

Maybe a bit of sluggishness after winning the first match against Afghanistan quite convincingly, thinking that British Test will be easy on the go,that conceded their downfall.

Winning the toss straight away, Bangladeshi captain Shakib Al Hasan took the decision to bowl first straight away seemed as a tactical turn to make, but I thought this wont going to work easy as thinking the same way Afghans did, it would get easy to restrict them below a good margin. But, England is not the team that would be beaten if performance meter gets down below 100%.

The night before the match, I think Team Tigers have had their plans well chalked out how to make killer plans and implement those in the match day. Just deciding to bowl first seemed as a solid plan, but even rain moistures the surface, making the pitch offering bit of swings that could be availed during powerplay - rather I am angry at the strike pacers for what they did in the first twn overs.

Scoring past 350 isnt an easy deal in a world cup event, but they could establish the mountainous runs only dint of the fact that they could settle down without losing wicket and smashing boundaries one by one against the pacers.

BD bowlers couldn’t make any genuine threats out of the surface. But, when Topley bowled and took 3 wickets in 3 overs, it showed how assistive the pitch was for the swing bowlers.

There will be more of the post losing reasons for which they lost the match, every analyst will find their own points. But here is what they must learn one lesson that while playing against quality sides, you have to be 100% to your performances. The margin for error is small there and when you dont get to follow the standard, best batters in the world wont spare anything.

I think, Bairstow's innings right at the start made all the difference along with Malans. His 2nd best ODI personal innings came in this match and the strike run rate above 140 literally took the match away from the opponent.

Because 1 ton, two half centuries and run rate per 7+ with plenty of overs and wickets in hand, settled duo extending partnerships and hitting boundaries one after another makes a hell out of match that the opponents find no way to restrict runs flow. Thats what happened for them.

But it looks to me that Bangladeshi bowlers bowled really well at the death,a few spin moves were bold steps and despite being hit for boundaries taking wickets with slowers and knuckles showed signs of resistance against such bat order. But they frustrated with the batting, while two young openers Tanzid Tamim & Shanto went out for ducks and one golden one.

Whether or not chasing the 360+ total, at least they could have scored 300 runs to, curtailing the net run rate, because certainly this would be one of the determinants for qualifying in the semi, or securing a position in the top 4.

But still a long way to go and many more matches be played. I wish they could come back with a strong return and looking forward to see that. Also, congratulations to England for the first win.
