Gilas' goal: Stop Italy's 2 NBA stars

It is crucial that Gilas Philippines relies on friendly defense to stop powerhouse team shooters Italy at the start of tonight's FIBA Basketball World Cup campaign.

According to the scouting report gathered by the coaching staff of the Philippines, the Italian national team lacks height but deadly when it comes to shooters, post up plays and wing-side attacks.

Earlier this morning, the Filipino players in Foshan, China, had just performed a light workout in order to prepare for a strong defense especially against two Italian NBA players Marco Belinelli and Danilo Gallinari.

Another Italian stunner is Luigi Datome playing in Euroleague.

With the exception of the aforementioned teams, the rival team has two larger guards.

Gilas head coach Yeng Guiao is hoping Italy will not be able to spy on their close door plays.

The Philippines last played Italy in 2014 in an exhibition where the Gilas team scored over 30 points.

This is an impossible task since these two Italian players are elite and I think Gilas has no match to their level, to think these two players are just average in NBA but Gilas are nowhere near to them. Best of luck for them.
