Rabona - My End of Season 74 Update

Season 74 Strategy

Legion FC started the season 74 campaign in League 2. My current strategy is pretty simple. I don't believe I have the infrastructure to support a League 1 team, so my strategy is to stay within League 2 and grow my fanbase. Ideally, I would like to be middle to top of the table each season for increased rewards, but I don't expect to be competing for a promotion spot. The key for this period of my growth is to keep the on the pitch results as good as possible while keeping payroll at a minimum until the number of fans catches up to the ambitions of the club.

Season 74 Results

We finished 8th in the table for season 74. I thought my squad was good enough to finish in the top 5 at the beginning of the season. We have a very young (and cheap) roster, so the results were a bit disappointing but not disastrous. It was also a competitive table with only 3 teams not fielding a team consistently.

We are closing in on 93,000 fans. We had almost 85,000 after 7 matches of the season. That means we probably increased about 10k fans over the course of the season which is a solid year.

Season 74 Financial Results

We ended the season with a surplus of almost 350,000 RBN. That was a little better than I expected and made the lackluster results on the field easier to swallow. Below are is the income/expenses we incurred:

Income increased by about 150,000 RBN. I need to look at little bit closer at what facilities should be upgraded - we are probably overdue for a few upgrades.

The last 4 seasons have really gotten close to the breakeven goal of the club. I am happy with where we are from a financial standpoint. We also got a bonus of 0.134 Hive for the performance during the season. I'm interested to see what the new rewards system that is in the works looks like.

Facilities Update

As I said in the strategy section, I am trying to grow my fanbase to grow into my infrastructure. The current utilization of the stadium is 73%. That is an increase of 2% over the past 5 days. It is a little early to start another upgrade. You'll see below that I am currently upgrading a lot of my other revenue sources to try and build the revenue numbers as my fans increase.

  • Stadium Capacity - Level 9
  • Catering Capacity - Level 8 - currently upgrading
  • Shop Capacity - Level 2 - currently upgrading
  • Hotel - Level 7 - currently upgrading
  • Parking Lot - Level 8 - currently upgrading
  • Office Building - Level 7
  • Building Yard - level 3
  • Youth Academy - Level 10 - Currently upgrading
  • Training Center - Level 0

We are also focusing on our youth academy. This strategy is starting to pay off as we have 11 players currently on rookie contracts (400 RBN per match). That is a significant savings on salaries.

Squad

There were only 2 players with contracts ending and we decided to let both of them go. Both were on rookie contracts, so they will not lower my salary by much. We scouted 3 new players and signed two - a new attacker and defender. The attacker is a 56 overall with a 97 shot. We will have to work him into our preferred formation though. The attacker is a 66 overall, but his passing still needs some work. Here is a look at the current squad. It is still young with a lot of depth.

We have 6 players whose contract ends at the end of this season including 4 midfielders. We will have to evaluate and see if we want to bring in some new names or sign a few to new contracts. I'm hoping our academy will provide a few players as well.

Season 75 Strategy

We are still working to grow our fanbase as priority #1. This season we are also looking to enhance our stadium for an increased revenue. The academy is working out well. We have several young players and our roster has not changed a lot. I'm expecting some improvement over the last season - maybe a finish of 4-6 in the league. We should earn a small profit of RBN. We are still a few seasons from making a push into League 1.

About Rabona

Rabona is a classic football (soccer) simulation game built on the Hive blockchain. It is play-to-earn style game where in-game currency can be traded for cryptocurrency. The gameplay is very simple, so there is no need to be a football (soccer) fan to figure out what is going on.

See my previous post introducing Rabona for more information on how to get started or more detail on the game itself. https://peakd.com/oneup/@belhaven14/cheap-to-playplay-to-earn-series-rabona.
